Hii finladder..very good information about arbitrage trade..I am tracking this strategy on paper from last one year, on paper definitely it works , I am preparing my self to jump with cash in real market. Small example..on Friday one stock MPHASIS was traded at 1786 in cash, and 1833 in future... calculating profit for arbitrage was 15000/- I don't know exact charges for buying selling that huge share is how much...but definitely will not cross 3000...

Thanks sir. Plz tell how settlement will happen if i sold one future and buy one synthetic future( buy ce, sell pe), at expiry for any stock. Is there any kind of physical settlement and at what time it has to be squared off 3.20 or 3.29.

no at the last day of expiry both cash as well as future position will be very close or actually equal only, all you have to do us to take counter trades and close your position.

Wat abt reverse cash and carry arbriatge. Can sell stock and buy future... Whether can sell stock and hold for 1 month? Please clearify sir

Mam selling for more than one day not allowed so for a month is impossible We can short sell a stock only in Intraday trades

But one problem sir , if future goes to ban period then how to manage this trade , and second problem is which conditions in your strategy will come in loss plz explain

first problem can you elaborate ? you mean if the government bans future ?? second problem - if your brokerage is too high, or if you are taking a loan to buy these hsares and sell futures, and the loan interest is too high

How to close this trade U bought one and sold other .. But u never closed the trade

so at the end at the date of expiry both future and spot will have the same value in our case of reliance future was at 2018 and spot was at 2002. You have bought spot for 2002 and sold future for 2018. On Expiry both will be of same value for example 2000. where you had bought spot for 2002, you will sell that now for 2000 , and face a loss of 2 rs where you had sold future for 2018, you will now buy it for 2000, and get book a profit of 18 rs. net you had 2 rs loss and 18rs profit = 16 rs profit.

You are not counting the cost of doing this cash and carry trade? the Interest on the cash used for taking the Stock position + all taxes in India.. If this so good you would be trading it in real life ...!

so when you talk about interest rates, it's a comparative game, sbi gives you 3.5% interest, while while a bank like rbl gives you 6.5% interest, so you compare it with those likes, now coming to the taxes and brokerage that is something that I have already mentioned towards the end of the video that has to be accounted for. With regards to why people do not do it, because it does not fascinate them in an ideal scenario arbitrage beats fixed deposit by 1-1.5%, and people do not want to take so many trades just for this additional interest. there are complete funds that do this for a living, you can search for arbitrage funds on google, hope it helps happy learning

@@finladder Fin Ladder this cash and carry trade is being promoted by many on you tube as if this is something doable and WORTH for a retail trader .... that is the impression one gets from your and other videos... so how about showing a worked example taking in to account all costs? and if you say it only gives 1.5% more than the risk free ( true) FD rate then why bother ? sure large professional funds perhaps do it ..

This arbitrage come with a cost on "taxes" If u have holdings worth in Multiple of LOT size and want to hedge for months from uncertainty from market then Shorting monthly FUT makes sense , Lastly u have "öption"segment Buy PUT monthly, Sell OTM Call Strike (+15% above LTP) Hope it was useful
