Fun fact: Bronzehide Lion is probably based off of the Nemean Lion from Greek mythology! In the myth, the Neman Lion is a lion with fur that is impervious to attack that Hercules is instructed to kill as one of his Twelve Tasks. He is successful and uses the skin of the lion as armor, very much like the ability of the Bronzehide Lion to come back as an enchantment to give a creature indestructible after it dies.

At this point I don't care anymore who wins. I'm just looking forward to another episode. Very happy to see all of you taking a turn to be the presenter of the episode. It just feels and seems to be that everyone is kind of getting into the groove and upping the production. Always looking forward to another episode to end my sunday (im in europe, the netherlands)

i always wonder when CGB will start adding the Celestus to all of his commander decks for "that sweet life gain and card advantage" bc we all know hoe much hes been working that card recently

Day/Night isn't bad in commander if there's a card where you constantly care like Celestus, the place where it's a pain is if you play your Outland Liberator or whatever and it's the only card that cares about day/night so you stop tracking and then 17 turns later it gets reanimated.

This show is amazing guys, the best commander show out there. Big shoutout to Brent, his work is top tier. I consider myself a Blake so I'm so happy for that amazing comeback. The bad part, waiting for another week to see the new episode.

Blake the snake @ 46:29. You don't get extra scions from this combo as you showed the first couple times when you explained it to the group. You always got to sac each scion you get to remove the +1/+1 counter from the undying creature. Luckily that did not affect the outcome as you could have stopped the loop with a scion to sac with the last swamp for the cutthroat cast, thank god. EDIT: it did affect the outcome. Sacing for mana makes your loop stop. Forcing you to sac other creatures. Caught you. Give me giftcode and I will watch you closely next time as well :)

haha, heavy heavy Yawgmoth player here. Was waiting for someone else to spot it =P You'll never have excess counters or tokens(without extra combo pieces), both are needed to sustain the loop.

@@ALymental When thinking about it more, and feel free to correct or agree. Blake actually f.'d up here looking at the board state again. By sacking the only scion he had for a mana to cast cutthroat, he no longer have anything to sac to remove the +1/+1 counter on the undying creature? Right? Then got a problem, as the only two other options to sac stops either the ping or scion creation?

That patience from blake on the first sword and finding the play that was forced out of order was fantastic! I don't usually enjoy long length combo wins but the execution was thuroughly enjoyable! Each player and deck showed some solid development and were getting close to closing the game out, the best kind of game!

Blake! Let's go with the come from behind win via drain, that was awesome to watch, and while I appreciated you "demonstrating the combo" to speed up the ending, I think for all the guff you've taken on the show thus far you'd be justified to play it out 1 life at a time my man! But seriously, loved the game, love watching your decks in particular and how you pilot them, and congrats on a well-earned W!!!

I went through an old box of cards yesterday and found Johnny, Combo Player from the Unhinged set. Today I'm tempted to find an artist to mod it to make it Blake, Combo Player after this! The raw energy of "I have to go off this turn or I'm dead" and then actually going off for the win is unparalleled.

Abdel/Candlekeep was my first Pauper Commander deck, it feels easier to play in that format because you have a lot more time to assemble a multi-part combo. Fun game! Not sure why it took me so long to check out your commander content.

It would be convenient all the previous 'Worst Possible Commander Show' episodes were on this channel. I know I didn't watch them originally as I was catching up on some missed episodes for a couple months, but it would certainly be easier to catch up on I believe the first 12 which aren't listed on the front page for this channel were accessible here as well.

29:00 When CGB asked Shae if he could get a rat for not killing the lynx that meant he didn't want to use his kill spell in the first place. If he really wanted to kill the lynx he would have but he at least wanted some value for taking the damage. In that kind of situation it's usually best to not agree to anything and have the player make that choice because if he's asking you like that then it's not an easy choice for him. It's likely he wouldn't have killed the lynx anyway knowing it's not really worth the kill spell. Proven by the fact on the endstep of Blake's turn he used the swords on yawgmoth which was intended target the entire time.

I love aristocrats loops. My favorite is in chatter fang with bastion of remembrance. Because throwing squirrels at people from a balcony is a hilarious way to win.

I don't see how the Eldrazi Scions would have gone positive. Without them, Blake would have needed to dig deeper into his deck to find a way to cast the cutthroat and leave his combo intact.

Yes I agree, I asked myself the same question unfortunately... He needed one more mana to do it so he could draw until he found a dark ritual maybe but the number of eldrazi going up is clearly a mistake

I’m sure it has been said before, but for me, Blake always plays the most interesting and fun decks, with brilliant imagination. I’m relatively new to mtg so keeping up can be difficult at times 😂 and I tend to go for big creature’s, but Blake always inspires me to go looking for the quirky combos and I might not be great at them, but I always enjoy building those desks and trying them out. Thanks all for always putting out great content.

You could say Blake really DOCTORED up a win on that one. I think he put Yawgmoth in the yard to have a doctor ON CALL. Someone got poisoned, but thankfully there was a DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE !!! Thank you.

Okay man I gotta give it to Blake what an absolutely INSANE comeback, I've never seen that deck before but it's right up my alley I'll have to check out the list for sure 😎🥰

I've got a similar deck that uses Prossh as a commander, it's really fun

Dangerous playing coat of arms against a tribal deck CGB! The cats will all get the bonuses too!

Just as a heads up, Hungry Lynx does pump every cat on your board when a rat dies, not just itself.

Keep up the jazzy card styles, that land tax has seem some years :)

Blake out here literally playing my deck and I loved it. It absolutely slapped and absolutely deserved archenemy status. Undying Yawg isn't quite cedh but it sure is a monster.

Yeah its probably the most efficient aristocrats deck available. The only thing stopping it from being massively stronger and more viable at cedh level is being mono black and missing interaction.

I want a hungry lynx! That was a great card. I think the most fun part of the game was the slow death of all the cats. Also Zulaport Cutthroat has always been one of my favorite cards! It was awesome to see him take everyone down for the win!

rules say that -1 and +1 couters cancel out. so he just put -1 counter on it to remove +1

@@Gudzon_lm thanks! I didn't realize that, I figured for effects that spend/remove them you'd track each separately.

With Ben having Blake at 9 from the proliferate trigger from Swords to Plowshares, I guess he didn't have an instant to get the final trigger during any of that. Shame.
