Thanks Bill. Most players gravitate to jazz, but with my interest in flamenco, middle eastern and indian music, I tend to look eastward for inspiration.

Great! I loved your explanation! Just some technical advice, you should lower the guitar sound to mach with the voice volume, or use a lapela microphone to raise your voice.

Hello, these note ranges do not concern Ashkenazi music, but only Sephardic music, these are two totally different musical cultures

in the war of Israel and Palestine, is the music still something that can unite the people? Is there really no exact difference between what is Jewish and what is Arabic down in that region?... then what are they fighting for when they could be singing and playing all together?!

I have been interested in the music of other cultures for most of my adult life and met many musicians of other races and religions. Music is ,indeed, a universal language and I believe that if everyone was a musician, there would be no wars.

This scale is not one of the modes so I don't have a specific name for it . The root note is E.

Double harmonic Major would be the name of this scale, which is a major scale with a flattened 2nd and flattened 6th degree. Formula would be R - b2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - b6 - 7. You can also derive modes from this scale the same way you would the major scale.
