I'm Arabic and I'm wondering why people trying to make it big deal , if he is mistaken blocked a junction or didn't pay touring tax or what ever , he deserves his car to be impounded , because you have to follow the rules as long as you are guest and show them respect in their own country !!

9 times out of 10 the Arab cars get impounded because they don't have valid UK car insurance and/or paid the appropriate taxes and/or have illegal modifications to their cars like tinted front windows. Aside from driving like idiots, showboating and generally making London roads even more congested whilst feeding their egos.

The Arabs coming over every summer with their Luxury/Sport/Super Cars are actually helping our economy. I personally welcome them over. The Police are only doing their Job, but a lot of the time its due to the local community complaining because the amount of the noise the cars make when driving around the streets.

***** No, its nothing to do with the cars age. Basically in summer rich kids from the arab countries Kuwait, Saudi, UAE etc come to england to escape the heat and bring their toys with them. They will pay thousands for the cars, then thousands to bring them here, but what they don't do is pay to insure them ! In the UK you MUST hold insurance on your car, regardless of where your from. Sometimes they are insured but not covered for UK roads. Thats why in July and August the police impound is full of lots of expensive cars. And, no he wouldn't have got jail time for not having insurance; purely because not having insurance can't cause a crash or make the consequences of a crash more severe. Do I think prison should be an option ? Yes, but were just not hard enough on it here. Its all to common now to come across teens without any insurance and some without a licence. It makes me cringe every time I report them to courts and the magistrates hand out silly little penalties !

Mardandan I don't live on a farm, or fuck horses. I live in the city, and Police the city for a living. Would you please tell me when I have been racist? Because I don't believe I have. And yes, I believe prison should be an option in serious cases. Why? Because no fine we can hand out is ever big enough to deter the billionaires we get over here for the months of summer. Plus the vast majority feel the need to take the absolute piss out of us as a country! When they come here, they don't insure their cars, they use our streets like racetracks and have very little respect for residents; essentially sticking two fingers up at the laws you and I have to abide by. What do you think would happen if I went to Dubai or Kuwait and done that? If I abused their laws, or anyone for that matter we would face severe penalties. Doesn't seem very fair to me!

Seriously, enough with the racism. Just because people live, or have different beliefs than you doesn't make them wrong. Forcing your way of life on others is not your right. Face it, They impound cars for the money, not to make the roads safer. You pay for the tow, a fine for whatever reason the vehicle is being impounded for, then storage, and getting the car released to you. It's a legal form of extortion.

Here's the prob... Registered in Abu Dhabi and the Arab has not paid one cent in British tax and wishes to drive his middle eastern taxi on British roads. The taxi is not registered and should be impounded. Same rules if I buy a car and don't pay my registration fee then I will face same consequence. I don't like the Government and tax but it's their rules, and just because you are an Arab does not mean excuse you from the law. simple!

Yeah a CLA45, basically, a Volkswagen Jetta/Bora with lots of power. Not even close to £300,000, or £100,000. You could buy an Audi A6 Avant and a Lamborghini Aventador with that! And instead you want a family hatchback converted to a saloon. NO! It costs around £50K!
