Ar Tonelico III - EXEC_FLIP_ARPHAGE/. with Lyrics

Музыка

Finally did FLIP ARPHAGE, took a while because I stopped halfway through out of frustration. Please not the last section may not have all the lyrics spoken in the background as there were so many it would have me explode. Take a look at the translation at the link below and scroll down further in the post to see a section that shows the lyrics overlapping. My videos aren't perfect, I know.
My apologies if anyone is upset by not having original hymmnos in the video where applicable. An updated video will be made in due time. For now please enjoy this video, thank you!

Akiko Shikata sings this song and has many others like it so should check her out. Also Yuki Kajiura is pretty awesome when it comes to this kind of music since she composes most of them with her own created language. The NieR game had a good soundtrack as well.

Well, as for artists, there's Shikata Akiko, Shimotsuki Haruka, Suara, Yanagi Nagi, Kokia, Rurutia, Origa and Itou Kanako. Many of the Tales of series games have music like this, so does Ar Tonelico, and many doujin artists do music similar to this song for series like Umineko no Naku Koro ni. As someone else mentioned, the Nier soundtrack is similar to this one. I know this is a late comment, but I hope it helps all the same!!

People keep asking what language this is, without the ability to reply to them... The language is Hymmnos. It's a language made up for the Ar Tonelico game series. The glyphs themselves are an English cipher, so each character correlates to an English character, which is then used as a basis to pronounce it. However, the grammar and the words it actually translates into are completely different from English. For example, the first three words in about half of the Hymmnos lyrics are an expression of emotion, which is a standard part of Hymmnos speech. If it doesn't have Hymmnos glyphs, then it's in Japanese, with no Japanese characters written.

  • @aquagondrag

Part of the lyrics is also in Ar Ciela, which has nothing in common with Hymmnos when it comes to structure or pronunciation.

+AusSP Yes. they have roots and structure from latin, Sanskrit, um.... japanese and i forget the last language. they melded these into a language that can be sung. they use emotional sound to describe tone. like when we in english make a strong remark or a question by inflecting the words.

  • @aquagondrag

    @aquagondrag

I think you are confusing Hymmnos with Carmena Foreluna and Ar Ciela, and you don't know how these two languages work. They have absolutely nothing in common with the Standard Hymmnos grammar, as they don't have a set vocabulary and instead give each letter a specific meaning, with letter combinations translating into whole phrases. Ar Ciela goes even farther due to the fact that the meanings for its letters depend on the frequency used in their pronunciation, and anyway, it's unusable by humans and Reyvateils because they can only hear and emit sounds of a frequency band up to 20000 KHz, when Ar Ciela can reach up to the 600000 KHz band.

Transcripting songs like this can be a royal pain - I commend you for tackling this, and so well, too! That said, this song is my new favorite - it's like a lovechild between Misha's Purger, Mir's Harmonius and a bit of Frelia's Hibernation. The first part is what really pulls me in, it truly sounds like a hymn being sung. The second part has the same kind of oomph that Misha's Purger sends out. Awesome song!

Which is precisely why I put that comment. Some have begun classifying Shikata as a darkwave artist, but I couldn't disagree anymore, as with the exception of a few, her songs, either from Ar tonelico, Ciel Nosurge or from her own independent albums; don't sound disturbing or dark enough for them to fall into that classification, and the same goes for the lyrics.

Take the first line: Sawul fffam tecasa sssy, it's actually: (wish)-(power)-(mind)-(hatred)-(you) (convey)x3-(power)-(compassion) (self)-(love)-(change)-(power)-(wish)-(power) (wish)x3-(light) Parse that in your head however you will, that's all this means. you would need a decent poem to say that in english mind = blown

I'd say the Hymmnos Concerts draw more from progressive rock with a more modern flair. A lot of parallels can be drawn to Magma (constructed language, complicated arrangements, chorus), but the two only sound similarly on particular songs; Magma's too far in the past to be much more than an inspiration.

Like I said, ASSUME. And if you look at it, yes, it is. It's a lot like Pastalia, and actually read this: Pastalia is a mainly emotional dialect that uses sound to express what Hymmnos does in words, with very few words that can be spoken. Ar Ciela does the very same thing, which is why, corrupted, it can translate out to Pastalia, though this probably was not intended. And I did not say it was a corruption of Hymmnos itself, just of what Hymmnos is - computer code, essentially.

Which in itself is a corruption of Hymmnos, inasfar as what Hymmnos actually is - programming language, essentially. It's apparently what you'd hear if you took the messages going from Tower to Reyvateil and lowered it. A lot. And modified it so it could be made by human throats. Essentially it's Hymmnos transmission made audible song. Apparently. And even then you only hear part of it because of the limitation of human ears. I'd assume Reyvateils can hear and understand all of it.

Depends on on the game, Ar Tonelico 1 was for the most part generic, Ar Tonelico 2 was really good, hell I'd go so far as to say one of the best JRPG's on the PS2, Ar Tonelico Qoga was shit, (Really a shame because IMO Ar Tonelico Qoga had the best soundtrack of the series) And Ar No Surge was pretty good.

***** I wouldn't say 3 was shit, but it definitely pales in comparison to 2. 2 was just too good - the only game in the series that I have beaten every route. 3's battle system was boring, story was meh, and didn't have a satisfying ending to bring the series to the end. 3 had a good soundtrack, but I really like the soundtrack from Ar Nosurge also. Ciel Nosurge is pretty good too, but I wonder why they don't brother bringing the offline version over...

kidaf I beg to disagree: while I concur that 3's battle system wasn't good due to lacking in execution, the ending was very well done and shows that everyone from it and from the previous two games will have a chance for a happy future, and the story was pretty good too, even if it doesn't quite reach the same heights the stories for AT2 and Ar nosurge did. And comparing it to AT2 is kinda a disservice to it, as expecting a sequel to be greater than its predecessors is sure to end up in disappointment As for Ciel nosurge, I'm playing through it right now, and unfortunately the game is too niche for this side of the ocean: when you're not interacting with Ion for synthesizing items, dating her or merely watching over her as she does her daily routine, you're making and customizing Sharls, making them repair broken memory points, and watching the VN sequences that are the restored memories. Plus, every single line in the interaction and VN segments is voiced, and the game has an amount of text capable of putting both Ar nosurge and AT2 to shame. And while it'd be good to have the first part of the Surge Concerto story available in English, it still defeats the purpose to not have a server set up here because the SekaiLink can't be performed without it: synchronizing the Micro Quasar's state, and sending over the plugins and story progress to change Ion's dialogues still require a connection to Gust's servers in Offline. And since the connection functions were already removed from Ar nosurge PS3, we're ultimately still screwed on that front.

It's due to using a corrupted version of the Ar Ciela language. And additionally, it don't see how it resembles the New Testament of Pastalie in any way.

There's something I've ben wondering about and I couldn't find a valid source... Is the Hymmnos language fictional and just made up for a game or did shamans use it to express their feelings though songs? I've twisted everything up so much that I don't have a clue anymore >__ Thanks :3

This song gives me them D.Gray man Season 3 OP vibes. Literaly! It's quite mysterious and I would say dark too but filled with hope and emotion. Impressive! I'm curious is there anyone on the world who has learned or learning this language by fun? 😀

As Aquagon said. I know he's worked with Yasunori Mitsuda on some game's soundtrack. His own band is called KBB; caught them at a music festival and they were stellar.
