Lol literally just the other day I read an article about a Bassmaster Elite series professional jury rigging his own AR setup like this, talking about how much better it was for his neck, even with some bulky tethering to an HDMI adapter. Figured there had to be a much simpler method than that, and here we are. Jay the pioneer as usual!

We are one step closer to finally showing those people, we can catch fish from the couch.

The average person can't afford these. I think they are really cool but the glasses and live scope you have cost more than my boat motor and trailer. I think this is really cool if you can afford these but I'm not going into debt to buy either of these. Nice video as always and I appreciate the good information and editing.

As a guy who has fished for 30 years, i treated myself to a livescope for my own entertainment and it is pretty incredible. you can really target structure and watch your lure depth

Seen guys rigging there ice pole to a aqua vu wireless camera panner would work good for this

I made a key fob controlled, milwaukee m12 battery powered. Transducer panner. Two 5rpm motors. One on bottom and one on top for direction indicating.

How long until we have software that can interpret the livescope feed and overlay the info onto the water properly? Like fish 50 feet out showing as marks 50 feet away in the glasses. Could have little numbers come up beside it with current depth too. Could you imagine using that on open water in the summer? Can't wait.

I know my family would love it and think it would make a great vid.

What kind of live scope do you use and can you use it for more then just ice fishing?

As for longer battery life, I use Quadlock cases & they have a wireless battery pack

Ive just been fascinated with the advancments in fishing technology. I always wondered what could possibly come after FFS. I understand both sides of the technology debate. Im typically a guy that says do whatever makes you happy. If AR glasses to your livescope makes you happy by all means. We're juat teally going to have to educate conservation more and more.

So could you run 2 - 3 sets of glasses off one scope? You and your buddys fishing together at a distance?

I contacted Garmin tech support about what units will show the helm. Ultra 2 units and GPS Map units was the answer. The tech support guy I talked to was not aware of this capability, but seemed excited to let the team know last Monday when they went into their weekly meeting. I sent them this video link. It's also important to know that if using an iphone, only the 15 uses a USB-C cable. If you have the older 14, like I do you have to get an apple AV adapter that uses lightning out of the phone, then another adapter from Xreal between the apple AV adapter and the glasses. Seems like it should work.

This is really good for kayak fishing or any open water. Your eyes are always on the screen but also looking at your surroundings.

Enable Night Mode to reduce the blue screen of the Live Scope and you might be able to see even better still. Also Jay, now you can post trips live (in cell range) and keep up on comments!

How many pairs of glasses can be running off one Garmen? if one guy is at the unit and two guys are out chasing fish would it work? I do get it that the Garmen can only be at one place at a time.

Get a cheap trolling motor, gut it then put the live scope in it. Then you can use the remote to rotate it

I just bought my 102SV just a couple of months ago and now it is already outdated? This is B.S.

My buddy Jimmy rigged a camera tripod to his panoptics pole. Remote control panning.

It's going to be in our lifetime when this tech will be perfected for fishing

Helm feature on the garmin active captain app. This function is only available on certain units, like the gpsmap series, and I think the new uhd2 series also has this function.

You can't. I have the 93SV and the 102SV. The "Helm" selection does not appear for either one. It seems like all we need is a software update, but my guess is that Garmin is going to screw us over to try and make us buy the new units. Even though I just bought mine a couple of months ago.
