Aquarius Reef Base | JONATHAN BIRD'S BLUE WORLD

Jonathan visits Aquarius Reef Base--the world's only undersea lab where scientists live in saturation for days or weeks at a time, studying the ocean. It's an amazing combination of science fiction and undersea adventure!
This is an HD upload of a previously released segment.

Hi, Jonathan. You may never get to read this, but I would like to say thank you. My son started out on Octonauts (a children's show about under sea creatures/adventures as you may or may not know) a few years ago. Last year, I/we were fortunate enough to discover your channel on KZread. Now he is 5 and can practically quote many of your videos... especially the ones about sharks!!! :) He loves anything ocean-related. We live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Your last couple videos have featured Florida. He gets extra excited over that! Best regards, The Knights

I've felt that this platform needs to be installed in one of the very remarkable locations where marine life is absolutely crazy with diversity. That said, they are usually remote and that would raise the costs of the mission possibly. The prices would be varying, some would be much lower, others much higher, dependent on its location and the prices of that country. Occasionally I see groups like this stipulating that the research be done in a US territory. Not sure if there are any of the remarkable locations I've seen which are US territory.
