Hii, I am a student in my senior year and I wanted to do my biology research in aquaponic systems. But I don’t know what components I should test or how I could turn creating an aquaponic system into an experiment. I was thinking maybe testing the different types of nutrients that I use, but wouldn’t know which ones I should test.

hello , in aquaponics we check the pH level , the EC and the ammonia . for the nutrition test what plants need .
Sorry but, koi fish isn't suitable for this kind of setup. Too small for them.

I added 5 small koi fish , so far doing well , when they grow big i will transfer them to my big fish pond. Thnx.
