This was the first song I ever downloaded as a kid. It took me the whole night with the pc on. I slept by the computer, my father woke me up in the morning and asked what happened. I showed him that from that moment on I could play the song on the computer whenever I wanted to without a cd or tape. We were both amazed. Now with just a click a can watch the whole video on my cellphone instantly. I wonder what we can expect for the next 20 years

So glad I remember this kind of thing firsthand. Even though I take my cell and high-speed internet as a given now, I still remember this kind of thing on a regular basis and appreciate just how far it's all come. Just like remembering what it was like before cellphones. I wonder what it's like to have grown up with these things? To not remember a time before constant connection.

When this came out, I had just got out of the Navy earlier in 1999, and I was living in a run-down trailer house in the middle of a mule pen in rural Oklahoma and delivering pizzas to take care of my wife and daughter. This song really put a capstone on the glorious decade of the 90's.

I was at the age of 12 , during a graduation trip . I bought these Aqua cassette tape in one of the shop. I insert it to my walkman player , listen to this song along the trip. It is such an enjoyable precious memory. Thanks Aqua for creating this nostalgic feeling for me

If I had to write a review of Cartoon Heroes, I would take ages. This is one of my favorites. It has so much packed into such a small length of time, and it doesn't run, it sprints. The team that put all this together really nailed it. Awesome.

We 90s people were so lucky to be in that time. After all these years it's one hell of a nostalgia.

They were just so far ahead in understanding world pop culture, it is insane. Think of this song. Now so many Cartoon hero movies out every year making billions of dollars. Barbie Girl is the perfect antidote to dealing with the plastic age of the 1980's and 90's. And yet there songs were still so much silly pop fun. And I love their new older mature music. Sold millions of records, yet somehow still underrated.

More than 20 years ago,when I had just entered junior high school and was hopefull and nervous, I could hear the students of the dance team practicing this song every day. This song was one of my favorites. This song is one scene of my youth and reminds me of those days whenever I hear it.

Waaay back we had a channel here where you could call in and, for a small fee, request a music video by number. Every request number would show up in the corner and waiting for it was like waiting on lottery numbers and was almost as exciting. Not ashamed to say I paid to watch this video back then.

In the 90s my father bought me the CD with Aqua album, I remember so clearly. These memories are so precious, because it was soon after my parents divorce...How fragile we are with our memories.

This has always been one of my favourite tracks. I didn't get into Barbie girl or the other tracks but this was fantastic!! Such a great pop song!!

Till now, there are only 3 songs that gave me goosebumps when I listened to them: Cartoon Heroes, Spice Up You Live, by Spice Girls, and Meet Me Halfway from Black Eyed Peas. Must say that Cartoon Heroes still remains the only one that gives me this feeling through these years!

Aqua nailed the Guardians of the Galaxy vibe before the movies came out.

When music videos were movies! The lyrics of the song is not just clever but a reminder to young minds who might copy what they see on TV. The music video depicts heroes that are more human, that's why they are so relatable. Bruised and battered but won the battle. Small touches such as anti-gravity switch, running out of petrol and paying with a credit card added more a sense of retability. And of course, you think their spaceship is a Flying Object but no... it was also a submersible! The song and the music video are just simply amazing! Loved this since I was a child. ❤❤❤

This is not just a song, this is a time machine...

Jan 2023 still one of the best song of a gone-by era. The message is very strong in this one: "What we do is what you just can't do." aka Don't be stupid.

Just imagining that this is their response to hearing about some 6 year old in a Superman costume jumping off the 3rd floor of a multi floor parking lot, believing he'd be okay and it'd just be a shortcut for him.

I can remember hearing a snippet of this song once, in a CD commercial, and I had been looking for it for years ever since.

I grew up with Aqua, and this was always my favorite! Also, it's one of the best feel-good songs ever ☺

This song has so much nostalgia for me. I remember being a teenager when it was first released, those were MUCH simpler times. 💖
