I have had a Mi wireless button as a doorbell for years now and just got a Aqara usb hub to move it to HomeKit and now have the 3year old button using a HomePod mini as the chime, zigbee is great and getting 3.0 with my old temperature sensors into HomeKit is awesome

I'm beginning to regret having so many of my accessories being Wi-Fi instead of using Zigbee from the beginning.

Ok so heaps of googling and research. Finally fixed my issue. For anyone else who is trying to integrate the Aqara double gang E1 wireless; Pair with your chosen co-ordinator. Then 'manage zigbee device' . In clusters > set attribute to click mode. You'll need to click 5 times to wake up switch, set the value to 2 and click write attribute. That will allow switch register single, double, long etc for both switches. Winning :-)

Good work! I'll have to take a closer look at some of these settings.

The Aqara switches are awesome to integrate in HA. This week I had a couple of double-rocker H1 wireless switches screwed over former regular single switches by an electrician and they're super convenient ! (perfect for the WAF and kids/guest-friendly)

Nice. I think a lot of people get caught up in automating their homes and not thinking about other people's usage like guests, kids, spouse. I'm guilty of this myself to be honest

You need an Aqara hub though right? Can you hook them up directly to HA?

  • @oudoulj

@@Hashterix No, no Aqara hub needed. I paired my switches to my Conbee II stick and use Deconz in HA. Most well-known Zigbee brands such as Aqara and Ikea are well-supported in HA with various Zigbee sticks and ZHA/Zigbee2MQTT/Deconz.

@@oudoulj Awesome. I have a HA Green device which I believe comes with Zigbee built in (I hope), will have to grab one or two of those things! Have some rather expensive heaters, in particular have a Tuya infrared heater in the bathroom that needs a bit of extra control so I can keep it turned off more but have a button to add a cumulative 10 minutes of on time on demand in addition to a schedule, so hopefully I'll be able to get that working!

@@Hashterix Apparently HA Green does not support Zigbee out of the box. They promote SkyConnect but you could go with any other Zigbee stick. The Aqara wireless mini switch could be a solid and more affordable option for you heater than the H1.

I use the mini switch to control blinds. single short starts opening, double short starts closing, long press stops the motion. Use similar to control volume on heos speaker. Use node red rather than HA automations because I was a node developer in a former life.

Nice idea for the blinds and speaker. I've been meaning to take a look at NodeRed but every-time I try it breaks.

@@HiveMindAutomation I run node red in a separate VM not as an addon. Seems to be much more stable that way. I grok js much better than yaml

Well the 'fun' continues. Got the Skyconnect, put the WXKG17LM (dual gang E1 aqara wireless switch) in pairing mode and everything looks good. PAirs/interviews ok. Only trouble is HA log book only records short left & short right presses. Do you have any pointers where to start with getting full functionality (left short, double, long etc. Thanks if you can point me in the right direction.

Hi mate. I think I made a mistake. I’ve ordered a few of the double gang wireless light switches (e1) and I’ve now received and can’t actually pair in the Aqara app. They don’t even appear in the Aqara app. I don’t really think when I ordered them, brought lots of the single button switches from Ali express but didn’t really think. Do you think there is a way to use them? 🙏

I'm assuming you've put your Aqara hub into pairing mode? I don't actually use the Aqara native app, only pair using a Zigbee->USB bridge.

@@HiveMindAutomation Thank you for answering. I did try through the app, then putting hub in pairing mode but no joy. I'm going to give the HA official zigbee stick a go and migrate all existing aqara out and hopefully will be able to then utilize the new switches. Thanks for coming back to me.
