It's a bit disapointing that can't add this directly to alexa routines, will this be facilitated in the future?

Honestly, If you are interested in those Kind of capabilities and automations you will find out that the Alexa routines are very limiting. There ist going to be a Point (i experienced this myself) at which you will have to convert your smart Home to a better solution Like Home Assistent. Try to read into it, its real fun!
