If this bike would have been 2 stroke it would have been a lot more rapid. This bike is still rapid in 4 stroke but a lot more aggressive in 2 stroke

Great review. Love these Aprilia 125 bikes, they look fantastic!! I would have loved one years ago. I remember my old DT125 off roader being quite quick but as everyone points out in the comments this Aprilia is 4 Stroke, not 2 Stroke..... Have a Aprilia RSV 1000 R now but still miss my 125....

Thanks. Yup as Alex discusses soon into the video Aprilia decided to go back to the original name for this one even though it was a four stroke, not everyone seems happy with that - but was Aprilias choice on the name.

Just got my one of these 2 weeks ago, the ONLY downside I noticed with just as you said.. there was a little slack on the interior.. no fuel gage etc was a little disappointing but I personally think the stability and just general speed, brake etc is amazing! The quick shifter is always a bit of fun when you see one of them “wanna race?” At the traffic lights😂

Ahh, long gone are the days where we had to sit on the bike watching the temp gauge, waiting for it to warm up before riding away lol.

I have a 2013 rs4. I've had 132 kph out of it. these engines love to be punished ,I find after a good 2 hour ride the engine will hold its power much more..I can cruise on the motorway at around 125 kph..it loves it

A few other differences, the main one being the inclusion of the quick-shifter! Aprilia also say there is reduced bulk and weight, with an aluminium frame as well

2 stroke is faster and higher top speed, but only available second hand. 4 stroke is the newer version so has latest updates etc like this version available with quick shifter. All down to personal choice.

4 stroke is more reliable and will run for ever. But its slow as fuck. Its 0-60 (rider weight dependant) is +14s which is about as quick as a citroen C1.... where the 2stroke (rider weight dependant) does it in about 7s which is about as fast as most modern hot hatches and would beat the average car to 60 easily. In my opinion there is no comparison.

Yes it does! The RS 125 GP Replica comes with the quickshifter as standard, and it's incredible. If you're thinking to get the GP Replica or standard, I'd go with the GP every day of the week.

Top speed I've had is 132 kph..mines a 2013 rs4...standard....but realistic crusing on the motorway is between 120 to 127......depending on what mood the bike is is.......

Don't feel so bad, 2020 is around the corner and you will have more than enough practice putting gloves on and taking it of, by 2021 you will be an expert.

I had one of the older ones back in 2001. Got it second hand was only a year old. It was a money pit! I had it for 5 months. I traded it in and got a cbr 400.

@@BikeMatters Yeah it was fast. Had chain and sprockets go pretty quick on it after buying new ones. It also was due something else piston I think? I could be wrong. They were amazing just really expensive compared to the honda. However the nsr 125 at the time was no where near as quick or cool! I got a restricted cbr 400 because of the insurance. Then had a friend remove the restriction. I'm pretty sure it was just a couple of washers lol. The CBR 400 is the most fun I've ever had on a bike.

@@BikeMatters It was almost new, just under a year old. I traded in an NSR 80. The original owner of the RS 125 returned it and the guy in the bike shop told me he switched for a Virago 125 lol.

Why is it so expensive tho, I see one for 9k cad, like thats almost the same price of a brand new full size aprilia 600+cc bike

I'm 5' 6" and was able to ride it fine - albeit it briefly as I was testing the GTS 300 HPE Supertech when Alex was doing his test on this. The 820mm seat height isn't bad esp as the seat is quite narrow.

@@21stCenturyDigitalBoy it needed a cylinder and cylinder ring every 10k miles and every say 30k miles it may need a new bore. it was like a 1 hour job to replace the cylinder so its not particularly hard. But its a different league to modern 125cc bikes

Aprilia changed the name of this bike to the RS125 to pay respects to the 2 stroke from back in the day. You're correct that this is an RS4 125, but it's listed by Aprilia as RS 125 (GP Replica). Cheers!

Alex is 6' 4 and got on fine, if in doubt have a sit on one at a dealers.

They need to make an Aprilia Tuono/RS4 ("400cc" Class) That's faster than the Ninja400/RC390/CBR500R Stick a 499cc engine it :D The CBR500R is selling like hotcakes because it has no real competition. But a Baby RS4/Tuono 499cc would take over :D

Mine does 120kmh before it hits the rev limiter. With all mu stuff i probs weighed 110kgs last summer at the heaviest and it still did 120.

i have they same bike friend nice i like it too but you shoud drive it slow not pass 8000 rpm for the first 1000

Hi Luis, if you have all the correct licences and are insured to carry pillion then yes you are able to carry passengers - although Alex wouldn't recommend it as the seat is quite high!

I came here for the RS125... I got the RS4125, I feel cheated! Lots of love from a owner of an RS125 (using the term 125 very very loosely)

I ride around 600km each weekend, maybe even more, to be honest it all depends on the budget that you have for going out Frankly, it has some super sports ergos, but you can deal with it. Just take any tips about long road trips on sportbikes and don t go on the freeways

@@user-kq8ow8wk1d ah, it can do that for pretty much how much you need it to, but it's freakin annoying for the rider, because it vibrates (not as hard as a cbr125 per say, but still, it accumulates) and the noise starts getting you nervous. I consider the cruising speed to be at 100 kp/h, if we're talking about long, straight stretches of road. But once you hit some twisties, it's freakin awesome!
