You brought up thermostat 8920W - I have that. What a shame I need to also buy model 76 to be able to use remote control function. I wish the relay module on 8920W included A,B - for humidity terminals required by the E100 dehumidifier

Regarding ducting to HVAC system - in figure 13 (preferred attic installation) is it acceptable to have dehumidifier pull from a dedicated return and then push dry air into return plenum, just before filter cabinet? If so, are there any requirements or recommendations for the length of 10” duct between dehumidifier supply and HVAC return? I used a dedicated return for the dehumidifier because of a lack of attic space to pull out of an HVAC Y-fitting and then reintroduce dry air to return plenum 6’ min. down stream.

I have this same question. I'm definitely not an HVAC professional so I don't know much, but it seems like you could draw air thru dedicated return then pump it in return line of unit.

How do I hook my 1850 return to return without raising static pressure? My 1850 humidity readout goes up 11% when my AC turns on. How can I fix this?

if I have an Aprilaire 800, do I need the sensor or the one comes with 800 would also work on this? Also, is there any controller that can be install on the return due that can control both 1850 and 800, so I don't need 2 different controller. if not how that would be possible? overall it was very good and detailed

*Excellent* video - Steve commented that outgoing air will be a little bit warmer and of course a lot drier. His graphic however showed 15F warmer. That temperature rise is a lot larger than I intuitively (apparently incorrectly so) expected. Does this imply that even with the 15 degree rise that the air is so much drier that comfort-wise you should *not* have to turn on the AC to compensate?

Thank you for contacting AprilAire! That is correct about our dehumidifier. The exhaust air should be warmer, rise between 10-30° but drier. Even though it’s warmer, the dehumidifier reduces a lot of the humidity so the air will feel more comfortable. We would be happy to discuss this further and can be reached at 800.334.6011 Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT.

Thank you for contacting AprilAire! The Model 8476W Wi-Fi Thermostat is not compatible with any Indoor Air Quality products. If you are looking for a thermostat that can control a dehumidifier, we recommend the Model 8620W Wi-Fi Thermostat instead. Please reach out to your local HVAC contractor to determine which products are best suited for your home and to ensure a proper installation. @@aprilaireco Air in vs Air out in ws like 70 out was like 72 amps on compressor about 2.7 as I recall, high side hot leaving compressor low side never got cold at all. I have had 3 out of 4 of these lose all their charge. This one has sat never being used but maybe 2 times in 9 years everything is like new air filter never had a spec of dust on it, what can you do for my customers I buy these through a high end brand name dealer out of Wilmington mass. Has to be a weak point on these small units. I have done some very big units with no issues but not sure if those are made by you.
