April 27, "If and Is" Daily Dhamma: A letter to our children

When we cling to what we have, or crave things we want, we create our own suffering. We mistake ‘if’ for ‘is.’
'If' exists only in the past and the future. 'If" is useless in the present. 'Is' brings us to today. This is the only time we have, so best make the most of it.
