April 22, 2017 Road Atlanta HSR Mitty-Ford GT Crash at Turn 12
At the 2017 Road Atlanta HSR Mitty driving the #71 Ford GT-R Mk7. 3rd round of qualifying on Saturday morning, looking for some "clean air" to get a quick lap. Got hit in Turn 12 just as I was starting my fast lap. The track safety people were great. I got away with a few bruised ribs. The car not so good! H Craft tell me they will have her back together better than ever in 6 weeks.

cut down the inside on that corner - during qualifying!!! I hope the other driver was penalised in a big way

That turn is sketchy to begin with. I can’t believe that idiot tried to pass you like that
Not a fan of diving in underneath for this very reason, if the outside driver is not checking his mirrors one or both of you is going off. The fact that this happened during qualifying is what makes this even more ridiculous, as I am sure the driver of this car was not expecting someone to dive in under him....SMH
Literally jumped watching this. That came out of no where!
Have raced there before, was taught to center the overpass,then cut the inside curb before you straighten out for the S/F line. Otherwise that corner will throw you into the outside wall. That other driver had no business to pass on the inside there. Even if he hadn't hit you, he would have pushed you into the wall. Damn shame.
I feel bad for ya passing mid corner always sketchy!!! Hope you get it back together soon stay safe!!
I've come down that hill a lot of times. And as they say, that Wall hasn't moved in years. Glad to hear the driver came out OK.
Not a place to pass at Road Atlanta and for damn sure not in a qualifying session, sorry that happen to you.

How far back was the guy when you went down the hill at the end of the back straight? How far back when you went under the bridge?
I rewatched it three times just to make sure I wasn't missing anything.....nope some idiot thinking it's Forza and sent it a little too hard
