Appointment Scheduler Feature in Google Workspace (Part 1)

Do you use an appointment scheduler link to book appointments with colleagues, clients, customers? If not, you are missing out! There are some great options on the market but before you add on another product subscription check out the feature that's built into your Google Workspace Standard or Plus account. The Business Starter plan does not offer this feature (as of Jan 2023).
If you want to send people a link that allows them to find a day/time on your schedule in order to cut out all of the back and forth communication to match up availability then be sure to watch this video.

It also allows you to see the appointment confirmation and appointment reminder emails that are auto generated from the system.

It appears to be interesting, especially if I can include adding a Zoom Meeting and be able to send them to PayPal for my fee based meetings. Also, this feature is not available on Business Starter version of Google Workspace. Thanks, Carrie

Thanks for watching! I’ve updated the video description to clarify about the fact Business Starter does not include it. These other features you mention could be worked into the workflow but not yet possible in this particular function.
So what's your opinion between Honeybook's scheduler vs Google?

I'd say that if Honeybook scheduler is working well for you then stick with it. It's always best to stay within your main platform when you can in order to take advantage of other automations this appointment could trigger. Sharing a Google schedule link via an email sent from HoneyBook is possible but the system won't recognize when the appointment has been booked and therefore couldn't trigger the next step which might include sending a form or a contract. Would you agree?
Can you make group appointments (allowing multiple people to book one slot)? And if so how? Thank you

No, this will not allow you to book multiple people in one time slot. Once a slot is selected, it will no longer be available as an option. I’m not familiar with a tool that will allow that. You could however provide a poll to your group and when they provide their selection of time slot, you can add them manually to a Google calendar event for the time slot they selected. Best wishes to you! Let me know if you find a scheduling tool that allows for groups to select an appointment time.
Can the user receive an sms text message and an email when an appointment is booked?

An email confirmation is part of this feature but the sms text message is not. You could however explore a third party automation program like Zapier to determine if this could be possible with additional solutions and set up. Reach out if you need support with that set up.
Which google workspace plans have access to this feature? it seems the business starter only has appointment slots available

For how long Google Calendar can store task/events. I am Getting message in the calendar app that information is visible from 2021? Pls share if this is true. Thanks a lot

Google Cal will store your events forever unless you delete them 😉

If you are paying a monthly fee for Google Workspace then it is worth resetting the password to get logged back in! Paid GW users have access to their customer service who can help you get back in. Best of luck!
