Me and my partner moved over from England a couple of months ago, I am a citizen but my partner is not, he applied for a working holiday visa (as we couldn't prove that we had lived together for over a year) and he had his visa cleared within 4 minutes :D

Wish I’d had this when I was applying for mine, so helpful! This did make me more excited to get there though! 💝 Also worth noting that Health checks can be completely random, I got flagged for one when I have no concerns! Was a pain, especially due to lack of places you can go for it up north!

I was there 10 years ago I was shocked to hear there is a 3 rd year ! I could scrape back in at 35 end of year

With the health check. If I were wanting to travel Australia and Asia. Would it be better to go to Australia first then Asia? Regardless of the health check, would you recommend going Asia first?

My application was granted within the minute 😅 that was a bit of a shock for me xp I didn’t have the problem of any long stays (although I lived/studied in Norwayfor about 4 months). So it’s going to be very specific to you guys sadly enough 😅

Hey, do you have to get a health examination before applying for this visa or can you just say no to it (i havent travelled through asia etc. and have all vaccines) and will it be all good to be approved? Cheers

I lived in Thailand for six months before applying for a WHV and had to do a medical check too so I think Thailand is included!

@@danielkislitsyn4790 I’d come home in between anyway! You can get them done in Oz but I think you need to go first on a tourist visa and then apply for it to be changed to a WHV!

Thanks mate! Seems like this is pretty niche couldn’t find any information… as far as I know I can only apply for the whv while being overseas. Seems like I’ll have to get my examination done in the Philippines or so :D just gotta let go and trust the process I guess!

First of all really nice video in my opinion, you covered all the important facts, well done :). However, i am applying for a visa subclass 417 at the moment from Germany. My problem is that i only got a bank statement in German, but the gov website says it is required to be in English. Do you know by any chance how important that is for a document with nearly only numbers? I figuered living in GB you havent come across this problem but id like to hear your suggestion anyways.

Well here in indonesia, the bank serves the english versions and in aud currency, so i guess you can ask the bank for the engliah version

Did you send a photo of documents or did you have them scanned?

Once you have been granted the visa are we free to travel to Aus any time within the granted period or are we expected to travle within so long of it coming through?

Did you have to do an english test or show qualifications in the application?

When you got flagged because of Cambodia stop, did you just then have to get the medical and add it on and not pay the full amount again?

Or do they automatically just begin the 12 months on the day your passport is scanned into the country?

Hey Amy, the Working Holiday experience in Aus should be the exact experience you are needing and wanting. If you don't want to teach in Aus then you shouldn't! Have a go at all different types of jobs that interest you. You only need to do the 88 days regional work if you want to extend to a second year. Hospitality and tourism are also now industries that are counted towards 88 days if they're in regional Australia. Have the best time!

You pay on application, I'm not too sure if you get it refunded if you get it declined but I imagine you can appeal it as obviously that isn't very fair haha

@@MollyThompsonx_the application takes time, money and effort from employees at the department to assess and investigate. If it gets declined you can appeal the actual decision if it’s rejected but people don’t get refunded lmao that’s completely fair and people know that’s the chance they take when they apply.

Hey bud. If you haven't started already, the visa starts the day you LAND in Australia. You can confirm this your self if you're worried/stressed as my source is compelting the application myself and it tells you.

Hmm I think it's dependant on the countries listed that you've been in? As I know for us it was Cambodia & The Philippines that were flagging as high risk areas, but I'm also not sure if this has updated now!!x

Hey!! This happened to me, if you have a look on the government website it lists about 6 different hospitals across the UK that do this, i know the only one in the north is in Manchester, which is were we went! It only takes about an hour or so and the results come back very quickly tbf!

Hmm I'm actually not sure, I think if it were to flag up upon entry into Australia you can pay to be health checked there - but maybe worth ringing/online chatting to the immigration website!x

I also had to complete this:( Have you travelled to any other countries that they seem to be a ‘risk’?? There’s a list of hospitals across the UK that will help you get this assessment done, but there aren’t very many - super annoying!

Well I had a old file saved on my immi account for a visa from Feb and it didn’t have to need a medical examination for some reason now I have a 12 month visa for aus 😂😂

It’s different for everyone I think, most people don’t need one! But we had to have a scan for Tuberculosis as we’d visited some high risk areas in Asia! We had it done at Nuffield Health private hospital in Manchester as that’s the only place in the north of England that do visa granting health checks (that’s government approved) from what I can see! Hope this helps xx
