    Recruiter here working in Ranstad light industrial division sa Calgary. One tip na pwde ko ishare para malaki ang chance of call backs from companies esp wala pa Canadian experience is mag apply sila sa same industry dito kung ano ang industry na pinag galingan nila sa Pilipinas. Example: Production Line worker sa isang food manufacturing industry, they should target applying sa food manufacturing industries. Most of the employers especially sa light indusrial (warehouse, distribution, manufacturing) don’t need Canadian experience even education isn’t a thing for them. Skills and experience talaga ang number 1.

    Very good discussion. Although I suggest calling people by their first name instead of "sir" or "ma'am", that's just simply the norm in Canada. Good job on a very informative content!

    To clarify the search criteria sa ATS- Yong term "AI" is used loosely to screen resumes. To other recruiters it is also called "boolean search". This "boolean search" filters ( e.g. Job title, or "add or minus- "awardee", "success" The words "success" , "achieved" can also be added on to the filter and this is the first screening. When the applicants are trimmed down to a smaller number, then it is seen by the recruiter and then the results of what you've done in the past can be seen, ( such as in the example given during the interview" I managed these accounts and gained or increased the results to 150%"- this is what the HR or hiring manager can see and can get curiosity enough, for you to get the interview.

    Another tip that was not discussed is due to stiff competition ideally you would want to send your resume at least within 3 days the job was posted. Because they will screen resumes by batches so ideally you would want to get on the first batch. Most of the time due to the influx of talents, in the first batch they will get the best applicant already. So really important to check indeed and linkedin daily or set alert notifications so you are always updated.

    You're correct, in the interview by the HR of the company where I was hired, they asked me what I know about the company. Also, since I was new in Canada, they asked me if I plan to study and if so, in what schools and the programs I would take. It's a good thing I was able to research on that. Like I said I was looking into a paralegal course in Vancouver community college. Then they asked, why not another college (which they named) and I told them that they only have a Legal assistant program and none for paralegals. It pays to do research before an interview.

    How does AI filter out the resumes? Through keywords? How will the resumes reach the hiring manager if your resumes get filtered out by the AI because of the lack of keywords? Thanks for the great topic

  • @inanutshellvlog

    @inanutshellvlog

    4 ай бұрын

    Yes, through keywords. 😊 If your resume has enough keywords (depending on what is required by the hiring team), then it goes through the next stage of the recruitment process.

    @@inanutshellvlog Thanks for the response, mam. Since I do not know how many and what keywords are required, then it makes sense to me to put as much as I can in my resume. I think that's why we (jobseekers) almost always "copy" the job description. It's just to get past the AI. I for one, would make my resume differently if the one that gets to see it first is the hiring manager. Because I know as a human being, he/she can be considerate, and think outside the box whereas AI cannot. I learned a lot in the video, and will be checking out the organizations mentioned, thanks again. And more power to your channel.

    To share my 2 cents, There's 2 perspectives to this question. From the view of the applicant and from the view of the recruiter or HR. From the view of the recruiter, if they use Linkedin ( or Linkedin recruiter), the recruiter searches for 1. Job titles -or your current job title. 2. Depending on what the job is-companies worked for. This is the first screening ( assuming you have a Linkedin account) Then, words such as "achievement" ( again depending on the job), "Winning" , if Linkedin recruiter sees that, then your resume passes the first screening. The second screening would happen, when AI trimmed it to say 10 applicants, then these are the CV's that the recruiter or HR looks at. This is where the words "achievement" "Success" etc would now play a bigger part. This allows the recruiter or HR would find interest and hopefully get that 1st interview. So its important to know the job your applying for and the company you want to work for. Hope this helps

    Here in Canada, learning is non stop and more stressful especially in office jobs. Pag nkpasok k ng office jobs means, youre the best of the best, at napapansin ko based sa mga office work ko na pinoy na super galing nila both soft skill and hard skill. versatility at multi talented kumbaga at napapansin ko na underpaid pa nga. Di uso dito yng company politics na kelangan irerefer ka para mkpasok ka, prefer ni Company is overqualified pero humble employees at ayaw nila n malaki ang asking, mas prefer din nila n malapit ang location at enthusiast employees yng ikaw yng magsshare ng knowldge sa kanila. so kung nahhihirapan maghanap ng work yng skill yng factor meaning kulang talaga yng skill na kelangan mag aral pa ulit based sa trending na in demand. Malaki ri yng factor yng character kung fit ka sa circle nila at may pakinabang ka

    You are right, job fit and character fit is also important. Its hard for the hiring manager to determine if you fit with the company culture in a few interviews , that's why they ask behaviorally based questions such as " how do you respond to an angry customer?" or " Give me an example of how you worked together with your team to solve a problem", or "Have you ever given feedback to co-worker" etc. After you having gone through an interview, it is good to email the interviewer and thank the person for the time spent. This also shows your gratitude and shows the potential hiring manager of your post interview ethics, which could "score you some points with the interviewer" . If you get hired, well and good, if you don't get a call back, then review your answers and learn from it.
