It's all about how you use it. Whatever is applied wrongly will leak and whatever is applied perfect won't leak, no matter if it ptfe hemp or loctite 55. I never had a leak with loctite 55.. like ptfe you need to make sure it is not too much otherwise it will come off the male thread as you screw it in.

Big black thing is a wood burning furnace for heating water for radiators. I guess its just to show that Loctite 55 can be used in the heating industry.

Ich bin zwar kein Klemptner, aber bei 2:55min läuft was falsch! I am not a plumber, but what is wrong with 2:55 min!

I thought this was an interesting product, watched the videos, followed the instructions, applied 7 (criss cross) turns to my 1/2 (by default roughed up) metal threads and 2 out 6 leaked. I would not call that great but very poor. I think putting in the extra 15 seconds in using the traditional hemp and paste is worth that, no?!!!

My thoughts exactly, criss cross is not working, and at some point, he puts it the wrong way. How on earth it seals I don't know. Meanwhile, I've tested a couple of teckniques of applying this string ONLY, (and PTFE ONLY) with no hemp at all, and the video is on my channel right now. I called it MEGATEST. You can check it out. I appreciate the view. Not that I'm not fond of the traditional hemp....I still use it. I just thought of putting those materials to the test, WITH real life conditions. Cheers

@@nobodydoesithalfasgoodasyou Well, it was 2 yrs ago, but I think I meant the video. I do use the product, which is a bit better than the traditional teflon seal tape.

@@suetv7084 thank you, I bought this stuff because I had so much trouble with teflon tape last time and I had to drain the system down several times, and it takes ages to refill the system and you have to stand in front of the boiler pulling down on a little spring loaded lever valve! I heard this would be better but when I looked up how to apply it a lot of the replies were saying it's not very good and I should use hemp and paste. I have radiators lying all over my flat and I'm fed up with it 🤬. I think I will just use loads of it.

@@nobodydoesithalfasgoodasyou I feel you. I also had to disassemble my system several times, and it was a pain! Good luck with it!
