Also have the Series 0 - and maybe I will change. But it is not a real pressure, because it still works fine. I use it primarily for silent notifications and health. I am not interested in this fitness stuff. So the new health features are interesting.

Glad to finally be upgrading from my Series 2! I got lucky and am getting it on launch day but if I waited 10 more minutes I would have to wait more than a month and basically almost December!

Time to move on for me as well. 80% battery health and fast charging were the tipping point. Brighter and larger display plus better SOC (vs S4) were key drivers. Need my sleep tracking (so no overnite charging for me)

I sold my older Apple Watch a while ago and wanted a new one, even stainless steel but at that price, there are some features I’d like which Garmin Fenix or Suunto provides, especially when hiking. Oh and yeah, I really wanted a redesign.

Anyone know if using the new USBC cable with the old watch will speed up charging at all?

The Apple Watch is one of those things I didn’t know I needed until I had one. 4 months now with the Watch SE and it takes so much usage away from my iPhone 12 Mini that the relatively “poor” Mini battery life is not even an issue anymore. I use 30% battery a day of my Mini now, and my watch uses 50% of it’s battery daily.

12 mini owner here and I probably should have gotten the watch when I upgraded. However I stream music heavily so I’ll burn the battery anyway. But if I can text without interrupting the phone that’d be great

I’ll stick with the 6 for now. Works fine for me. Keyboard would be nice though. Thanks for the Curiosity Stream discount-finally signed up!

Upgrading from Series 5 titanium to the Series 7 titanium. Turning 50 and the eyes are not as good as they used to be. Will be giving my 22 year old my series 5, as it is still fine, and has one more year of Apple care.

Similar situation, I have the series 5 titanium also but am thinking of changing to back to aluminum for my next watch. - I want to keep up with the new functionality (features) and a cheaper model will facilitate me to do that. Besides, with apple care+ I am less afraid of accident and breakage 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Pre-ordered on the 8th! I still love my series 2 but it sucks being outside of the OS upgrade cycle and shut out of (full use of) Fitness+. Can't wait for delivery day!

Something I don’t think anyone’s talking about: In terms of pixel count, the 41mm is very close to my 44mm Series 4. That means I, with my tiny wrists that don’t fit most of Apple’s bands for the bigger Apple Watch, can jump to the smaller size now, or as long as this design sticks around, and get almost the same experience I have now in terms of screen size, but at the cost of retiring 4 out of 5 of my current bands.

I upgrade my phone and watch every year and I'm still super excited to get mine tomorrow! Thanks Rene.

I'm still using my Series 2. Have used it almost 24/7 for five+ years! I think it might be time to upgrade :D.

What exactly do you mean by wanting the watch to be independent from the iPhone? Just that we would be able to buy and use the watch without needing to pair it with an iPhone?

Thank you thank you thank you. So far, your the only reviewer who listed the two main reasons that I’m upgrading to the series 7 from the series 4 and that’s the previous gens were too damned small. Being a man “of a certain age” I’m tired of putting on reading glasses every time I have a notification. Also, the blood O2 measuring capabilities will be a nice tool to add to the health monitoring toolbox.

Let’s see if I can afford one after 16” MBP! More interested in a new Apple Watch than iPhone and the laptop I need! With always on display and longer sport tracking than my series 1 it feels much better functionally than iPhone 13 vs my iPhone 7. I have clip on lens set to cover most situations, even if the sensors are a lot better on current ones.

I’ve had a Series 2 and 3 for the last 3 years. Can’t wait to get the larger and always on screen with the red series 7 in a couple weeks!

I’m still on the Series 3, I’m definitely still gonna wait till my Series 3 just falls apart. If not I’ll get the next Apple Watch next year.

Seems like the time to upgrade from my Series 4, even if just for the updated sensors and always on display! The larger display will be a nice addition, as well! Went for the Hermes black stainless this time around. … ALSO, had to smile at the James Bond cameo with the Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre watch (I have that watch as well, and I’ll admit, while I wear my AW almost daily while working out, I’m still a watch “traditionalist” and almost exclusively wear my traditional watches other than when at the gym, etc.)

Upgrading from my Series 3 - which honestly still works great, but I'm ready for the increased speed and screen size.

Even though it’s said that the display is always on, would I be able to go In the settings and make it to where it’s not always on? like on the previous models

Can I listen to my audible audiobooks with the GPS-cellular series 7 watch without the iPhone? That’s super important to me. Thanks

Thinking of getting my first Apple Watch It would be useful when walking and at work. If you go walking and leave phone at home, and you receive a call, what happens? Does both phone and watch ring? Is it a case of which devise is answered first takes priority. And do apps on both devices sink. Eg step counting. Will it be consistent between what shows on phone and watch? Also, any apps to use for calories counting. I like to enter what I eat to count calories, but again, they need to sink and match between phone and watch depending where and what I’m doing throughout the day. Thanks

So, do we know if the Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3in1 charger stand will charge the series 7 at the higher speed? It uses USB-C but not sure it sends the upped amount of power to the actual charging disc. 🤷🏻‍♂️

One big question when watching KZread on my phone it makes my watch screen go from normal to showing the name of video I’m watching along with taking over my screen unless I click the side button and take it out of that screen is there a way to stop that , I don’t mind it showing the tiny white circle with red play button but it’s when it completely takes over my watch screen …

I absolutely love my Galaxy watch 4 44 mm (and my previous ones) with my always on display that I've been use to for years now!!

I had to get a 6 earlier this year when my 3 went out of compliance. I like the look of the 7, but I think I will wait until next year’s model.

For anyone who lives in an area where you have to wear long sleeve shirts or sweaters, or you have to for work, there is zero reason to keep your Watch 5, 6 or 7 set for always on, which will provide you with a good 4 to 6 extra hours of usage. I’ve done this on my 5 for most of the past two years and prefer the added battery over having the Watch showing the time to the inside of my shirt sleeve all day. Oh, and good video as always Rene. Great advice for those considering upgrading or buying new.

Even without long sleeves I still prefer last longer battery life over an always on screen.

The watch has an ambient light sensor though, in dark conditions it gets very dim, you can notice quickly when you pull your sleeve and see the watch getting brighter.

Will MagSafe duo be updated to the faster charging speed?

The Apple Watch is one of my favorite products. When I had COVID-19 the ability to do oxygen saturation was fantastic and allowed me to monitor noches my saturation level when static but when I went up a flight of stairs and stopped

This will be a great upgrade from my series 2! I pre-ordered the Series 7 the second it opened on the 8th, and it said delivery on the 15th. On the 14th, it changed to delivery on the 29th. Grrr Oh well... I'll get it when I get it. Can't wait!

I came from the SE I’ve had since the series1 till now and it’s a good watch. There’s a lot of things that could be done of course. But, I honestly think they’ll keep getting better.

Yes I want more complications on the photo watch face. Like even just a third complication or the option of smaller complications. Like I use modular sometimes just for the complications but I want an image.

I want the series 7 in the series 6 blue. I had the series 0 but ended up returning it. Now I’m back in the market for one and I think I will be going with the series 6. I just love that blue color.

Rene, you are absolutely right, I am used to wearing an Apple Watch. I can't live without it. once I forgot to wear it and needed to do some calculations. I like just doing it from my wrist instead of taking my phone out to do it.

One can add multiple Apple Watches to an account w/ different settings but cause of same AppleID automatically syncing health and fitness data. It’s thereby possible to have a watch just for sleeping, one for running, one for everyday tasks…

Just got a series 7 my last watch was a series 5 I love this thing it’s so handy and entertaining it can do so much I just discovered the backtrack feature which is awesome because I do a lot of biking in the woods the battery last all day with my usage it’s something I must have everyday with me and finally a keyboard I’m glad scribble isn’t the only option it was painful 😂😂

There is a claim of better health sensor and 20% faster performance on S7 SIP, do u feel it in yr daily usage?

They could increase the battery size by a lot if the made the Taptic Engine smaller. Because now it fills almost 1/4 of the housing!

I also have the series 4 and didn’t think it was a big change until I put on the series 7 and now it’s my favorite watch. Always on display, screen is much brighter. But if I had a 5 or 6 I’d wait

I’m debating upgrading from my series 5 to the 7. My watch performs fine I would like the bigger size at 45mm I have the 40mm with cellular. I just don’t know how much of an upgrade it will be and I do like the 5.

You’d just upgrade for the bigger size and better battery life. Everything else would be the same.

I'd like one. I have the SE. I also have an iPhone 11, and the screen is too small for me, greatly due to Apple not using the screen real estate well enough.

Are you reviewing the ceramic watch ?

Faster charging and the larger screen is the main reason Im upgrading mainly the larger text I probably need glasses but this will help a lot. I HOPE Series 5 to 7

Sounds like the issues I had with the Series 6 won't be fixed with a Series 7. The o2 sensor was pointless. The always on was next to useless because my preferred face was infograph modular, when it went to always on, it just showed the static ugly version of the face without any update. The always on compass never worked right for me since the Milanese was my go to band. There was basically no perceptible speed difference between the Series 4 and 6 during actual use, the 6 did boot faster but I'm not constantly doing that.
