There's a disturbing complacency to the idea too -- you're hampering your ability to be aware of your surroundings. As a person who lives in a poor country, wearing something like that in public is an open invitation for someone to beat you up and steal your expensive headset. Or in private, not being able to see that your spouse is growing to hate you and is planning to empty the joint bank account and run. It's like solipsism given form.

i personally thought this video was good, i legit didnt notice a difference because I happened to come from another video on this topic. Both of them very educational, good stuff. If you enjoy doing this, keep doing it. I wish I had a way to express ideas, topics, thoughts, or creativity to my own community. It may not be much, but you do have an audience. Keep going brother!

I'll have to check it out. Devil On My Back by Monica Hughes was the book I read as a young kid that provided a dystopian counterpoint to the more typical enthusiastic futurists of the '80s. Similar theme about what amounts to a constant connection to a dynamic shared digital information trove (an ai search engine effectively) supplanting lived experience and diverging from reality due to authoritarian manipulation.

I appreciate the parallels, and at the same time think it's a little inaccurate to put the onus on us (when it comes to relying on technology) when so many cities in the US have such poor infrastructure that they're completely unwalkable, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to just go outside and have 'authentic' experiences.

Thanks for the comment! That's a totally fair observation, and living in suburban Atlanta, an unwalkable city is part of my lived experience. I certainly don't think the onus is entirely on us (there are a multitude of factors at play when it comes to the role of technology in our lives) but I do believe it's valuable for us to practice awareness and embrace the slice of responsibility we do have.

If ever I were to buy one, I would just put a time limit on the device. And I would do that for my family, my friends, or friends of my family members.

What about damage to the eyes or the delicate connections in the brain...I remember as a child mom said don't sit to close to the t.v. because it's bad for your eyes..now the t.v. is being strapped to the head...

I appreciate your videos your videos are very good but you need to improve your videos more. Your video doesn't use attractive thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and keywords you need to update them and do SEO properly. Also, you need to market your videos organically to increase your video impressions.
