I'd say the Vision Pro is launching in March of 2024. My main issue with it though is it using the M2 SoC when they just announced the M3. This makes a $3,500 product already feel outdated when it has a prior gen SoC then products that are far less expensive.

I'm almost certain that the Vision Pro will either be replaced with an updated model in the same calendar year 2024. OR that M2 is just a placeholder because the M3 had not been released yet.

There’s no way Apple isn’t going to retcon the M3 inside the Vision. That would explain two things 1. It would make the March/April time frame a bit more believable and realistic and 2. It would explain the short timeframe between the M2 Pro/Max MacBooks and the M3. They wanted to introduce the M3 chip before the vision (hence the 9 month gap between the two generations), and that still gives them 5-6 months to not only put the chip in the device but announce it with the M3. Just my theory

Apple almost never uses seasons like “spring”, which makes sense considering they’re talking to a global audience where spring happens at different times of the year. In Apple’s world, “early” has always meant “January to April”. (They really only know three terms - early, mid and late.)

I think it will need to be with the same account as your iPhone so when you get a call on the iPhone you can answer it on the vision pro just like what you can do now with the Mac

I tried the meta quest 3 and I had to return mine because the displays were glitching out and becoming fuzzy and hot! Upon further inspection it seems to be a common issue! So I just returned it and not gotten another one unfortunately

Mouse support is important for accessibility for when eye tracking fails.

For me down the road in 2028 or so when I replace my Apple M1 MacBook Air if Vision Pro keeps moving forward it may become my daily driver for my content consumption, and daily use. Hope that it is still around then. Now as far as version I would like to see a baseball cap style to see if weight distribution would be better. After all have my cap on almost all the time.

When I bought my I phone 12 mini for $950 at the apple store it was the worst experience buying something there’s a line and you feel ignored. Then when you get the phone your in a mall where you feel like you will be robbed walking around with a Apple bag

i think the big thing is, that thing looks like it might be uncomfortable. it has a back of the head strap, but not top of the head, so that means 1 thing, that they have to have a lot of pressure on your face to keep it up. i mean every vr mixed reality headset that isn't the weight of a coin has a top head strap. i mean hell most will sell you a pro strap that has a resting head mount on the top to remove weight on your face.

My meta quest 3 is very painful to wear over 5 minutes. The Gear Vr headset was by far my favorite headset because you just put your phone into it.

The therapy session part sounds interesting 🤔💭. One question is are they catering for hand fatigue when lifting your hands for long periods of time interacting with the apps. This enabler for online therapy is sounding great. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾

Most of the time you won’t even be lifting your hands, since it can recognize your pinch with your hand on your lap

Not going to get this myself, but Apple have to get the hardware on point and not release it a day before it is 100% ready

The front display is the absolute LEAST desirable feature on the whole thing. If there's a switch to permanently turn it off, I'd toggle it immediately.

@@theo5675 well let’s see how well it reviews. If it reviews well, I’ll get it despite it being a first iteration especially if it makes watching movies an awesome experience. It would be perfect for long flights if there are battery packs to support 3 hour long movies.

Siri not being enabled on the dev kit is a known thing though…. The early rumors and reports said that the Vision Pro development team didn’t want to use Siri instead opting for its on voice commands system similar to the iPhones accessibility feature

Halo straps are hands down the most comfortable way to do VR, but it seems only PSVR understands this. It's the only strap that doesn't give you the fatigue of goggles sucked to your eyes.

They need to ditch the external eyeball-screen nonsense, make it hyper lightweight (carbon fiber to keep it "premium" maybe?), and price it around $1k. Like the Apple version of Bigscreen Beyond, but slicker functioning/looking(though BB *does* make you look like a Deus Ex character. kinda cool), Then I'll be onboard.

I agree, I'd only ever buy my first head-set when it's more like glasses and hyper lightweight (carbon fibre) just as you point out: All I'd need is the option to have virtual display then just use normal input methods for the screen and it would be incredibly useful even without eyeball-overkill and extra price premium. Obviously Apple wants an uber 1st gen expensive premium feature product however for profit margins and premium goods end of the market for those that can afford it, it costs nothing in effect...

Price issues

They should make the headset only a display screen and you plug your phone into it for the battery and computing device

It'll probably be March with many features "coming soon" and the optional head strap "coming soon" for $199 or more.

I really can’t justify $3,500 for a first generation of an Apple Product. History has shown that the first generation is always very limited when compared to future generations of that same product from Apple. I paid around the same price for my 4K projector, but I can play my PS5 on a 106 inch screen. Much more useful to me and I can watch movies in 4K with my family, or by myself.

"History" has not shown these devices are limited. If anything, they are Impressive for the time. Of course, the technology will improve, but to say this version will be restricted is inaccurate.

Not to mention something that you're forgetting about just like most other KZreadrs everyone's going to be priced out pretty much

Hey, ir you feel Quest 3 os not confortable, just buy a better Headstrap. They are cheap and make the Quest 3 as confortable as any other Headset.

Reality: this will be a thing when there is no display. Instead the image will be projected directly onto the retina using a very low power LED array and lens system from Ray Ban sized glasses. Much lower weight. Much lower power. Much less "head". A counter weight on the back of the current version might help (battery) - but is still weight on the neck. IAC Vision Pro is not going to take off like iPhone did - or even Watch - it is too niche and not "portable" in a daily use sense.

That tech is still at least a decade away imo, I mean it took about 10 years for iPhone to mature into the moderen day smartphone, and after the X, every year has just been incremental. Eventually we’ll get there with Vision Pro, but not for a while.
