is there a particular reason to use Apple TV on smart TV which already has Android OS? Is it worth buying apart from the benefit of Apple ecosystem?

The chipsets inside smart TVs are very weak. You're getting an A15 Bionic inside the Apple TV 4K whose performance is light years ahead of slow built-in chipsets.

I believe some OTT apps had a video play back problem for 1080p TV. So check with Showroom before you buy it.
