That’s the point. Remove the charger, introduce new tech, don’t put them in the box, and charge stupid money for a product which maybe costs 2-5$ for them to produce, and then make subpar product so that it breaks easily and the you a buy a new one again.

I'm a long time iPhone user, since 2012. I think this is just another junk that they want to sell to us and make us ready for the portless phone. I hate that. The cable looks very cheap, so does the pad where you put the phone on. It will get yellow fast and break at some point, since you will need to use it all the time. Is it a good user experience that you need to shake the phone? Absolutely no. It's in no way better than plugging in the cable. But what they'll do is, when they remove the Lightning port for good, you won't be able to synch or backup you music and movies via cable. You will need to have Apple TV and Apple Music. iCloud is causing me tons of issues, and the same is true with Air Drop in Catalina. They're doing so many advanced things, but they still have not fixed the basics. This is what upsets me the most with Apple in recent years.

Can you plug the MagSafe charger into you Mac and use the power from the Mac to charge your iPhone if you haven't go the wall charging box yet?

Just a wireless charger with a ring of magnet. For $60 dollars you have a lot of better options out there like the Samsung Qi wich is a dual wireless charger.

Am I the only one who is concerned that using this charger overtime is going to scratch the back of iPhone making a dust ring around the magnets?

I hope Apple adds a version with two meter cable. Of course as well as using a power of brick, you can always plug into your MacBook or iPad if you have got the magic keyboard. That is what I will do when travelling.

I'm calling it right now, in the future iPhones, apple gonna remove the ability to charge their phones with a traditional lightning charger and forces users to buy this crap

Well yeah. Every phone is moving in that direction. I thought that was pretty obvious with how every company has their own brand of wireless earbuds and wireless chargers now.

@@HellNaw98 so right!! ofc and every other company including Samsung this year or next are going to follow suit and remove chargers from the box but until then they are also going to throw shade on apple for doing it. Remember headphones jacks? and how its removal propelled a whole new line of amazing technologies?....yupp..exactly that!! except only apple has the guts and loyalty from their customers to actually do it before everyone else.

Remember the rumors earlier this year when Apple were supposedly removing all ports from iPhones? Maybe not this year, but it definitely is coming in a few years.

@@DurangoCzechoslovakia Ofc and I think why they didn't do it this year was just to keep the lightning port which would make it easier to remove the charger from the box, since it has been around for years and people would easily adjust to it, at the same time MagSafe this year would make it easier to remove all ports next year or so once people are already used to it, thus easing the transition.
