I had the same issue for my 13 Pro max and when i took it to the service center they denied free replacement and demanded 32k for display change. So finally with a help of third party vendor i got it changed for 9K in some warranty program but as mentioned lost all the data. If someone is facing similar issue and your mobile is out of warranty. Try fixing the flux, it will hardly cost you 6k instead of changing the entire display for 32k Thanks for voicing it out A2D

I think they have introduced new mode called repair mode to avoid data theft while service. But still I was wondering why they forcefully deleting the data.

Samsung has maintenance mode. iOS17 has a similar feature. If enabled, it will prevent service agents from accessing the contents of the device. The problem is that you need to enable it in settings. Without display, it is an issue.

Samsung also has similar policy, everytime I visit service center they always ask us to backup device before creating ticket and they return us a formatted device. I have faced same issue when I had replaced my S20+ green line issue and again for battery replacement, also my S22+ USB port replacement. Though samsung has a dedicated maintainence mode setting build-in they still format our devices.

Data deletion happens on Samsung as well. I have an S22 Ultra, and my touch screen recently stopped working. When I took the phone to the service center, they said they would replace the touch and display but delete the data. Since it is Android, I was able to backup the data from my laptop. I just wanted to point out that it happens in Samsung as well.

One more reason could be that apple serialises their components so that even components (e.g. display) cannot be swapped between 2 iphones... Even though they are OEM components it will still show that you're using a duplicate display on the screen always!
