If the issue was the size for the regular pro to have the 5x lens, why didn’t they implement it this year? They literally had to redesign the casing CAD files to include smoother edges etc…would have been a good time to do it all.

I thought usb c was for europe only for the newer iPhones and outside of europe it will he portless with magsafe only like how the iPhone 14 models only use e-sim for the u.s. models. That way apple can make more money from there magsafe accessories since apple makes money from magsafe accessories and apple is not required to use usb c outside of europe.

The SOS assistance is something I hope to never need but definitely a great feature. I think I’ll use the action button for launching the camera as I can never seem to launch the camera quick enough on my current iPhone.

Watched the Apple live stream some pretty awesome stuff they unveiled

I want to do a side by side comparison in the Apple Store of the 2x camera vs my 12 Pro Max 2.5x, mainly the low light performance. So far the 13 and 14 Pro hasn’t met my expectations by the 15 Pro Max could sway my if the sensor crop works better than digital zoom for 2x. Time will tell. I can’t let go of the 12 Pro Max until I find a camera better than the 2.5x in low light.

It’s just a single focal length, 120mm. Optical. Still be considered a periscope, unlike others phones periscope, which is likely a dual mirrors reflect, this is a multi mirrors reflect, takes up less space to increase flange distance.

Periscope describes multiple types of zoom lenses that use mirrors to project light to save space. Apple is different to the others as they had to start from scratch with new innovative designs to avoid patents. It is 100% defacto periscope but as expected not a copy and paste Samsung lookalike.

Someone please tell me Is that different focal length change with 1x is available in regular 15 pro or exclusive on 15 pro max only??

The iPhone 15 Pro would be a cleaner, less processed photo since it’s a 3x optical zoom. The Pro Max 3x is digital. So anything on the Pro Max 2x-5x will look lesser in quality than a Pro’s.

x5 lens is perfect for concerts, NBA games, big parties and so on. s23Ultra x10 zoom is too long - you will not be able to get person in frame, you will have to walk out of building and shoot from there lol. That's why Apple put 120mm lens (x5 zoom) because that's what professional photographers use, unlike stupid Samsung who just put x10 zoom and thought it was a good idea lol.

If I do upgrade from my iPhone 13 Pro Max (256 GB, Graphite) it'll be of course to the iPhone 15 Pro Max in the Titanium Black probably in the 512 GB capacity but 1 TB would be nice. But realistically, I don't expect to upgrade on release; maybe a bit afterwards.

1:25 no, i'm not. In fact it's one valid reason why I probably won't buy the new pro. Until now, you could mute without opening the case, mute without looking - which was often important in meetings. You could also see at a glance when the iPhone was muted. Now nothing works without a long press, opened case, display on, etc. A massive cut in daily use - there was a reason why Steve introduced it as physical switch ...

I don’t see a big deal. You will get used to it like anything else. Press and hold and it’s done. You can only set it to one task so it’s not like it won’t work as a dedicated mute switch.

the smaller the size of the chip, the more heat will occur. In this latest iPhone, is there any solution in this? Too much hope for cooling from the outside, then there is useless for this small size chip.

I'm pretty worried as well, 77mm is a focal lengh way more useful than 120mm in day to day life. And a crop on the main sensor for it will inevitably hurt the quality 🥲

My only question with the regular 15 and the 48 megapixel camera.. is how do you access that feature when you can only do that with Apple pro Raw.. that’s only available on the pro model?

Don’t care about zoom. For zoom I have my S23U. And I’ll stick to my 14 pro. Not big enough of an upgrade IMO. Very happy to see USBC on iphones going forward.

I have iPhone 13 and I will upgrade it to 15 pro. But the only thing that make me struggle is the color. I don’t know what color should I get. 😢

I tend to upgrade every 3 years so I’m coming from the 12 which had 5G and now with the 15 I get USBC. This makes things easier as I only need to carry one cable for both my iPad and iPhone. My battery on my 12 is down to a maximum capacity of 83% so it no longer gets me through the full day. If I know I’m going to be using it a lot I have to carry a charger with me. Hopefully the new 15 will easily get me through a day of solid use. There have been a few new features added over the last few iPhones so I’m looking forward to Friday when mine gets delivered (15 Pro Max 512gb).

The action button hurts consumers badly. I can't just look at the side of the phone now to see if it's muted. Nor can I just feel the switch in my pocket. And it's much harder to explain - these weird rarely-used shortcut features are the kinds of things Samsung revels in. They make the phone much worse.

1:04, to be honest... not keen on the action button, can see accidentally pressed, leaving maybe the light on draining the battery, the worst case with the mute button is no sound until you realise 3:22 48mp camera, OR 48mp sensor... pixel binning to 12mp/24mp in standard JPEG, because, lets be honest, the vast vast majority of people don't do pro-raw

Do you mean 2X, 3X and 4X? They do what Samsung does for 2X, 4X, 5X, 6X 7X, 8X, and 9X, they use software and cropping.

They can either crop in on the sensor itself, getting a smaller effective sensor and increasing iso so that the image doesn't go dark, or they'll stop at sensor crop 2x and digitally crop in with that, possibly utilising some fancy sensor shifting thing /deep fusion to try and extract more detail.

Action button what an innovation 😂.... it's just a software . Tomorrow Oppo or Xaiomi or any phone can release this features in the new update.

I went back to think about it. My initial impression is get 13pros or 14pros. Since those have telephoto and pro motion. But I’m guessing regular apple folks won’t really be enticed by pro motion, they can’t even tell lcd from iPhone 11 to oled on 12. They just say wow dolby vision is glaring, proceeds to turn it off. And the vanilla 15 absolutely delivers for them, the convenience of usbc, and a decent enough 2x crop mode, in fact anywhere in between up to 3x would be decent now with 48mp, and good enough resolving power, which their older non pro phones did not do.

Yes yes 60 hz is a rip off, having only 2 cameras behind is a rip off too, using last years processor, also rip off. But their buyers don’t find 120hz a compelling need, having almost lossless 2x crop more important for them i would assume, and most people are fine with not the fastest chips, 7 plus gen 2 is good enough for me, or even 778g or 870 I would not mind a bit. And if Apple buyers are savvy, get a 14pro, it will be about the same price, with more features, even more budget friendly, 13pro, still plenty fast. If I were shopping around ltpo 120hz, HDR 10+ / dolby vision screen, 3x camera would be what I look for, and minimal shutter lag and faster shutter speed priority to take kids photos. Since scams are rampant now, more security updates.

I'm really happy that Apple did not increase the prices. This makes them very competitive. The removal of the 128GB model makes tge Pro Max a little less accessible but to be honest I don't know a single person that has the 128GB model of the 14 Pro Max so I guess it is not a bug deal

They really aren't putting in sufficient effort to encourage folks to upgrade. You can hold onto your phone until either the battery starts acting up or you decide it's time for an upgrade.

Thanks for the video, Danny. The event was one of the worst since years. It was full with marketing BS. Regarding new Camera features: different focal modes that Apple offers are just crop-ins. We should not use Apple's new marketing language. The Pro Max has only 3 lenses. That is it. Adding portrait effects afterwards is not a camera feature. All Galaxy flagships have it already in the Gallery App. It is called "Add portrait effect". And changing the focused object afterwards was called back in 2013 on Galaxys "Selective focus". Congratulation to Apple for naming it "Next generation portrait"🤦‍♂️ Apple was quick to replicate the "Universal Gestures'" from Galaxy Watches, but managed to finish only the "Double tap" (to be released in October). The others will be replicated next year🤣 Oh, that new "Action button" which nobody had seen before😁

Could you get over it? These features are new to iPhone users, and that's what matters, not Samsung fans who would never buy an iPhone! Yes, loads of marketing, but Samsung spends $2 billion a year on marketing, so it is what it is. As far as an upgrade from an older iPhone to an iPhone 15PM, this is a massive upgrade, so it is fantastic. Certainly much more than the S23U had over the S22U, which was basically a 200mp camera and dumping Samsung-made chips!

Apple copying Samsung features from 2013 confirmed, but they can't copy it correctly yet... why did they remove the most useful 70-85mm range from the Pro Max?

To have 77mm lens on the Pro Max means 4 cameras (4 sensors), it will lead to a more expensive phone, maybe more heavy and bigger as well...I assume the 48mp is not enough for cropping to X3, so apple decided to this trade-off. Actually, the X3 is a little too close to X2 (but still important focal length) and the X5 is a little too far from X2. Still, the Pro Max should be a great high end phone.

How do you know its USB 2.0 in 1200$ phone box. Apple didn't mention anything about that but for some reason you just made it up out your ass.

I have over 10 USBC 3.0 cables at home and I would prefer them not to ship a cable at all as it will just be more e-waste for me.

Mr. Whostheboss correctly points out that the new Pro Max telephoto camera is worse in most typical use cases than the regular pro.

you didn't even get it do you? It's not telephoto that is worse lol, telephoto is the best by default because it's optical zoom lol. It's in ranges between x3 and x4.9 when Max uses main camera that crops the image.

Just buy an iPhone 12,13, or 14. They all the same. Only thing is a 5x zoom and usb c...but I'll stick with my Samsung that can go 100x zoom

No it isn't the one. No ultra fast charging, let alone fast charging. Still restricted customisation, and still too god damn pricey . So the S23 Ultra is still the one until yep, you guessed it, the S24 Ultra arrives.
