Hi I want to first start off by saying great video. It was very informative and I must say that your art looks great to say the least. I’m looking to do more of like realistic drawings like portraits and such. Would the iPad Air be able to accomplish this just as well as the iPad Pro? I see a lot of videos of portrait drawing on the pro and not the air in most cases

Here in Europe prices between Ipad Air 5 and Ipad Pro 12.9 has 500 euros of difference (with a cover, pen and tablet itself) 500 Euros for some people means a lot...

This review helped a lot than others. Everthing was fine and excellent, all my queries were cleared. I have one single doubt about the ipad air. Is there any latency while drawing in procreate with the apple pencil. I have never used an ipad, I'm planning to buy one for learning procreate. Can you suggest me which model i should go with.

Glad it helped. I would suggest with any model that supports Apple Pencil 2. If you are just starting, iPad Air would be more than enough. I would even try to find an iPad Air previous generation. It also supports apple pencil 2.

Hey, great review! About the storage, what kind of media, from your personal usage, consume most of the storage? Wouldn’t saving on iCloud or using an SSD or thumb drive mitigate the storage issue?

Hi there. In my case, Procreate uses a lot. External storage, including iCloud, does not really solve the problem, because you basically can't keep the apps somewhere else. Movies and documents - maybe yes, but not the apps. Otherwise, I honestly never experience any storage problems on my 256gb iPad.

Once you’ve exported the project in the format you need it will upload to iCloud and then you can just delete the project in procreate when you start running out of memory. But I’ve been using it for about 2 months. Done about 30/40 projects that I haven’t deleted and still have 40gb free. And obviously that’s with everything else installed as well.

I want to start learning adobe illustrator, will iPad Air M1 be good enough?

I was VERY tempted to get this, but with my monitor and phone having a refresh rate of 240 and 120 respectively, I don’t think I can put up with 60 again😭 especially for art

I have a 64gb Air from last year and have iCloud. I still have almost 30gb of space on my iPad because everything else is in the cloud. I recommend the cloud

64 is more than enough. Learn how to use the 'files' app on the ipad and buy a cheap NAS drive for your network

Thanks for the review! I plan on getting this iPad for gaming, school and drawing, the only concern I worry is storage because I am getting a 64GB model because of the price. I am getting a wifi+cellular model, and adding the Apple Pencil to it, which is already expensive enough, I prioritize those over storage, at the same time, I don’t think I use that much storage.

More storage can mean that you will use it for at least double more the length which is worth a lot. Id highly recommend upgrading if youre also including gaming because then even if there was a 128gb variant it would not be enough

I got 64 model same reason. And you can backup your files easily to external drives with type c and cloud storage is always a good way to store files.

64 gb would be enough for a new guys to start drawing and note taking I don't have a very I usages as new laptop broke down so so I goo for it

How is the latency

Do you recommend to use some form of glass screen protecter? Never been a fan of those, the display looks so much better on it's own. Some artists even use the matte screen protection, which absolutely ruins the color correction, contrast and sharpness for me.

Hi there. I personally don't use any screen protector on my iPad. I only have Smart Folio that I cover the screen when take the ipad with me. Never had any problem.

I had a Samsung tablet and after a couple of years it was unusable because of the lags and was already considered old. I would suggest iPad, I’m planning on getting my first iPad since I had my first apple product (iPhone 12 pro) and I found it smooth and good.

The 120 Hz makes the screen flow smoother and quicker, lag is not caused by hz

No, but its not worth getting the iPad air tbh, either buy an older pro or just get the new pro base model. If you really wanna buy a new one then its better to just get the base iPad 10.2 then then new air since 64gb storage on both is a major limitation and upgrading to 256gb doesnt make sense.

Hi. Check out my short video and pause it at any point. You will see the difference. After 5 years of drawing on ProMotion I would say it is noticeable, but not too bad.
