Jared te government knows about ferrel people, they have been suspect in killing and eating people for years. The government has sent in kill teams to kill out the ferrels in areas that have killed people. I have heard a few stories about this subject.

I've been an avid hiker most of my life and l won't go into my own sighting of strange creatures. But l can't count how many times love seen tents and hiking equipment just abandoned near the A.T., particularly the southern parts. Always wondered why. Perhaps.

40 years ago I saw two feral people along side a creek while I was camping in Alabama. They looked totally wild and not like any humans I have ever seen. They actually had some sort of animal hide/fur as part of their clothing. They freaked us out to the point that we got the hell out of that area and moved to a different site.

I used to go camping on horseback with my friend or by myself around the Cohutta Wilderness. We were experienced campers and riders. Also young and foolish! Trail? What trail? We would go off trail all the time! But we never, ever went where the horses wouldn't go. We trusted them to sense danger and they were good at that! They only got us up in the middle of the night three times. We found that a bright fire and weapons came in handy then! Never shot or hurt anything just wasn't gonna get hurt neither! I can't imagine going on any mountain trail without a group of folks or solid protection. Very glad Trail Wolf and his wife weren't hurt!

The Cherokee have stories about wild men who live in the mountains and are different than Bigfoot. South Force 10 has a KZread channel and has told stories passed down to him from his uncles who were paid by the government to hunt feral people. Many feral people are cannibals. Those hikers were extremely lucky. The mountains have always been a safe haven for many different people. Natives who refused to participate in the Indian Removal Act, runaway slaves, outlaws, men who came back from war with PTSD and couldn't reacclimate to society, etc.

I think this was the best one so far. You know what I think everywhere where there's mountains like the Appalachian, You're gonna see things that aren't right. Just like they saw pharaoh people I think they're all different things that live out in these mountains that Haven't even been discovered yet, And that might be a good thing. Excellent story. Scared the beejeebers out of me and I'm trying to get the supper dishes done. It got me to wondering, all those people that come up missing on the Appalachian Trail. I know some get lost and they find their bodies. But, what about those who have never been heard from again? Not clothes, equipment, hide nor hair is ever seen of them again. This story makes you think.

I've heard a lot about feral people, spent most of my life in the Shenandoah Valley. In some places there were quite a few families who had lived on the mountains for generations until the Govt decided to make their mountains National Forests. A fair number refused to leave their homesteads and some did alright; they'd been feeding and doing for themselves since forever. But showing smoke or having an actual cabin would get them caught. But of course some outwitted the authorities for a long time. It was like the clock had been turned back and they had to go back to their oldest ways to stay alive and undetected. The ones described here are truly terrifying. They probably thought this couple were some kind of magical species!

I had rocky mt high land at 9K feet. I know a wolf over a dog or a hybrid, but Fish and Game kept telling us, no wolves in this area. Hubby said then you are plum stupid, and when you come face to face with a big black one that is roaming around this sector, do NOT be surprised. It isn't a coyote, it isn't a dog, and it ISN'T a hybrid, cuz some of us KNOW the difference, and it has been known to howl. It doesn't sound like a dog, coyote or anything but a wolf. Folks are plain ignorant sometimes.

My kin were tar heels and they use to say about the same. Be careful with what ya do know, and really careful with what ya don't. I can see where there would be feral people in that area. I KNOW for fact out West in the Rockies there are lots of things that go bump in the night that you don't MESS with. In my youth I backpacked all over the Sierra's and we definitely KNEW to keep a good fire going at night, just made sense in so many ways. I have been in the Rockies after college years and am aging out in the mts, and there are Sabe's (bigfoot) and you might not ever see them, but you will KNOW they are there. The tree knocks, the animal noises that aren't animals, rocks being thrown at ya. A stench, or just feeling someone has you in their sights. Evidence is all around if you know what to look for. Somehow I would feel safer around them, then ferals and other creatures. All I know if someone tells you in confidence or aren't ones to make up tall tales. BELIEVE them. Don't ever demean their experiences unless you were there and know different.

Hiya Brotha Jared. Sending lots of Love Hugs Prayers to you and your's. As I've been listening to these stories I've been curious as I only thought that the AT or mountains was a southern thing but didn't realize apart of it actually goes through New England aka where I'm from. Did you know my state alone in New Hampshire has about 161 miles of that trail. Located within the White Mountain National Forest. I've actually hiked a great portion of it through out my lifetime without even knowing it. How cool is that. As always great job telling these stories keep up the amazing work. Take it easy xoxo

When I was a kid I was a Boy Scout. We were hiking through the woods pretty far out there and we passed a hunchbacked lady that was out there alone. It looked like she was drawing something in the sand. You could smell that dead animal smell. The scout master kicked her fire out and started telling her it’s dangerous to have a fire here, since there was so much brush around. She got really upset and started mumbling something. I’m not sure if she was a feral person or a witch, I just remember the whole den getting sick later that day.

Jared, I was wiggin. I have no doubt whatsoever that there could very much be feral people out there in those mountains or anywhere where shelter can be found and people can be few and far in between. What got to me was the smoke, and how feral people could have the recipe for a fast-acting inhibitor like that (made from earth elements, obviously) to put people to sleep. 😮 The thought of someone creeping up on me in the dark and watching me with some sort of intent I don't dare quite ponder on too deeply is NOT real conducive to a great night's sleep. Great story, though, 😅 just made my 👀 eyes pop a lil bit.

I 100% believe in feral people, when you think about it. Most people who have rejected authority and civilization have been mountain people. I can't help but think incest would have played a big part in their to date activities. Being different and being in the same habitat ad predators, they too have to be extremely aggressive, and like children with learning disabilities in our opinions, they have violent outbursts towards others. So it stands the reason, they don't trust us, they don't understand us, as do we, them. Hunting hikers is probably like us going to the store, they can use the lighters and equipment they can figure out to their benefits, and as we all know, women are especially targeted for being very attractive compared to what they're used to, and to help bare new children. It's sad this is most likely a very real probability, but as we all know the world is not a safe trustworthy place, and it never seems that any god people pray to ever save or stop these horrible situations, so 100% be safe and hike in numbers and arm yourself in some fashion and try to be alert as possible and situational aware always having atleast 1 or more to keep watch in shifts while others sleep

A sailor from California one pretty young woman was flirting at this Gas Station Store Restarant I talked with her bought her a soda pop. The fellas were not pleased I come out my bike had a flat tire . I called a Tow Truck the driver took me and my bike to another place , the driver said I was lucky that is all they did he said "It is still day light come dark time these people don't like outsiders being friendly with their Women.".

Um, I hiked the entire Appalachian trail from Georgia to Maine. You got your wires crossed bud. The LT refers to the Vermont long trail. Flip flopping means hiking the whole trail, but starting in the middle, usually Harper's ferry, then returning to hike the rest southbound. There's no such thing as "wild" camping. You mean dispersed, or stealth camping. Blue blazing doesn't mean taking a short cut. It means hiking alternative trails to the AT. I don't believe a word of any of this story....
