How is that injustice?? The Hollywood girl lived a different life, that led her a different direction. I’m happy for her. I also feel sorry for the lady with cancer.she seems like a beautiful soul. I hope both will chase Jesus, and all will be well.

I am too struggling with stage 4 ovarian cancer the past 3 years. I too have all the same side effects and in a wheelchair now from neuropathy. Stay positive and strong, you need sleep to help your body heal. Antidepressants help with the depression which can be overwhelming most days. Treatment is on going for me to extend life longevity……..I am still here fighting.

Lost my mom 2019 she was 51 .. . She got glioblastoma and they said two-years and she made it about 6 months... Life sure sucks sometimes for all of us but I wish u the best and may ur mom rest in peace along with mine too ...God bless

I so hate this strong lady is having to go through this fight, it's simply not fair at all! Cancer sucks big time!!! I really hate that she's had lasting issues following each of her treatments. She's lucky. Usually people in these regions only see a doctor because things have gotten so advanced that they can no longer walk and their journey isn't as pleasant as the one you experienced, but be thankful for that!! Thx for sharing

I know there are many people who think that men can't get breast cancer. From the Breast Cancer Research Foundation " About 1 in 883 men will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Yeah ..... I'm sure it's really easy for her to think positive And you know, thinking positive is going to help her neuropathy. It's going to prevent the damage to her heart from there extensive chemo. I know you well, but as somebody that has dealt with stage four cancer for the last 10 years, it is not helpful to hear. Some people do well with chemo, others get all the terrible side effects and spend their extra days suffering. When cancer is advanced it never seems worth the treatment. I saw enough as an oncology nurse.

I have had multiple cancers …some easily treatable…some not so easy….this last one is aggressive and incurable…chose no treatment and Hospice…enjoying as many of my last days as possible peacefully and with no regrets. Life is full of challenges, surprises and is time limited. Celebrate it…celebrate the people in your life whether they were there for the long haul or fleetingly…. Whether they were ugly or kind…we are stronger than we know …trust yourself first and the Universe second. Keep moving forward until you choose to stop.

So true tomorrow will be last chemo treatment for this round and I had zero side effects except for being tired. I had a bone biopsy today so that my Dr can see the status of cancer so rhat he can put together another regimen, which I'm scared of because I know its going to be more aggressive which inturn could cause me to have side effects.

Shonda's doctors are not giving her optimal care. They should be giving her medication for depression as it is common with cancer treatments. I had a complete hysterectomy when I had uterine cancer ( early stage). I suffered from endometriosis. After the surgery, I felt so much better. I still have NOT experienced hot flashes. My grandmother died of ovarian cancer and it is a very painful cancer. It is very hard on the human heart. I stay on top of my mammograms because breast cancer is genetically linked to ovarian cancer.

Last year my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Just before Father's day. After 1 years of vigorous treatments of 2 different flavors of chemo and radiation, today he is cancer free. All thankbe to the Lord God Almighty. Don't under estimate what God can do.

My grandma had a rare 8 lb tumor in her leg. Muscle was taken from her back for skin grafts. Her tumor was so rare that her dr, at a top hospital in kc ks, uses my grandmas cancer in her teaching classes. After treatments my grandma had a small piece of her lung removed, then battled breast cancer, all of this while she took care of grandpa, at home,while he was dieing of lung cancer. Sending all healing energy to Shonda! Cancer is a fu++er. This just brings home how access to healthcare affects all our lives. I grew up with ready access to care and trust for medical professionals. I just wonder, given her genetic history of cancer in her family, if Shonda lived in a place with greater resources, she would have been tested sooner. Ugh.

My friend went to the doctors every week for a year. Complaining about pain and a lump in her breast. The Doctor basically said she was crazy. They told her to relax. Last month she died of breast cancer. What do you supposed to do I know doctors aren't God? Doctors have a practice And they try their best But basically what they do is practice

Fuck Cancer. It took my dad in May 2020, when he was 51, which caused me to get even closer to my Grandma (his mom). Then in Nov. 2021, my Grandma (MeeMa) get Ovarian Cancer. She's had 2 surgeries and is on round 3 of Chemo. I'll say it again, fuck cancer!! Do what u want and on ur terms.

I wonder if not going to the dr. in over a year could be a reason why it had spread so much by the time they found it…? It is hereditary but maybe routine dr. exams could have helped. I tend to blame the processed foods in our country... Americans are the some of the most unhealthy because of what our country "allows" that other countries have the sense to ban.
