Apostle John Kimani William sermon on Being Different

As believers, we are called to stand apart from the world and shine as beacons of light in the midst of darkness.
I. Understanding the Call to Being Different
Apostle John Kimani William wants to emphasize that being different is not about conforming to societal norms, but about living according to God's truth and values. In Romans 12:2, the apostle Paul urges us not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
II. Biblical Examples of Being Different
Apostle John Kimani William wants to highlight several biblical examples of individuals who embraced being different and stood firm in their faith:
Daniel:
In the book of Daniel, we see how Daniel and his companions chose to follow God's commands rather than conform to the customs of Babylon. Their faithfulness and refusal to compromise made them distinct in a foreign land. Daniel 1:8 tells us that Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the king's food, and as a result, God blessed him with wisdom and favor.
Noah:
Noah, in obedience to God, built an ark when the world around him ridiculed him for it. He chose to follow God's command to be different, and as a result, he and his family were saved from the flood. In Hebrews 11:7, we learn that Noah became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
III. Embracing Being Different in Our Lives
Apostle John Kimani William wants to encourage you to embrace being different in your own life, as we are called to be salt and light in the world.
Embracing God's Word:
Being different begins with embracing God's Word as our guide and standard. In Psalm 119:105, the psalmist declares, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." By immersing ourselves in Scripture, we gain wisdom and discernment to navigate the complexities of the world.
Living a Life of Holiness:
Being different also involves living a life of holiness and moral purity. In 1 Peter 1:15-16, we are reminded to be holy in all our conduct, for God, who called us, is holy. Our choices and actions should reflect the character of Christ, setting us apart from the world around us.
Demonstrating Christ-like Love:
Being different also means demonstrating Christ-like love and compassion. In John 13:34-35, Jesus commands us to love one another as He has loved us. Our love should be selfless, sacrificial, and inclusive, breaking down barriers and showing the world the transformative power of God's love.
