I cant believe that Kantanka have to pay duty fees. Nana Addo please remove the duty fees so the cars can be affordable for the Ghanaian people. We also need to encourage the Ghanaian people to buy the Kantanka cars so it can create jobs for the young generation to come. I myself live in Toronto and when I come back home to Ghana I will be purchasing the Kantanka car. I urge my fellow Ghanaians that live abroad to follow and do the same thing.

We thank God for making this possible on African soil, Ghana. May we be delivered from mental slavery, "that white man's goods are better than our's". And may the PRIDE of being an Africa take over our mental faculty so that we can embrace our own and patronice this cars for the success of Africa.

Bible Reader Why? They are twice the cost of the same vehicle fully assembled in China. Kantanka should have used their tax and duty avoidance to sell these Chinese manufactured CKDs that they assemble for a small profit and large turnover. Rather than trying to double their money on every vehicle whilst pretending they are designed and engineered in Ghana and charging a premium price for them. bigmtauto.en.alibaba.com/custom_page_1/Globalized_Operation.html

The company has made it clear in various interviews that its comprised of two parts under the Automobile umbrella. He has a 75% made in Ghana section that is not yet commercial, but has produces many cars over the period including hybrid brands. The second part is an assembly plant that is currently commercial, results of which can be seen in the showrooms and on our streets. It’s about time we looked into supporting our own, not all made in Ghana is below par.

50% down payment and 50% spread over a period of 6 to 12 months? That's too dear! All they keep saying is , it's not expensive yet they are not giving us prices. Typical blackman's business. In abroad, car loan is given over a period of at least 5 years with an agreed monthly payments. If they can target the civil servants of Ghana with a long term payment, that would be great for our dear nation. I have clue why our government isn't supporting this great man financially through policies, this is the Africa we have.

Asamoah Kofi 😂😂😂😂😂 Everybody should speak their own language and you will see where that will lead them to. Business is business the more audience you appeal to the better. Cause business depend on people it better to speak a language that a lot of people understand than a language that a hand full of people can comprehend.

  • @bigjml

Nana Kumiwaah Kantanka don't pay full duty on these vehicles as they are imported in CKD form from the manufacturer in China. The Manufacturer does the same deal with Companies in other Countries. Part of the requirements of any partner is that they must be able to import the CKDs with reduced or no import duty and taxes. It is a good Business Model, both for the Chinese Manufacturer and Kantanka. But Kantanka choses to charge premium prices when he could charge less and corner the market. bigmtauto.en.alibaba.com/custom_page_1/Globalized_Operation.html

Azeez Bawumia The Tax and Duties are hugely reduced if you import certs8n goods as stipulated bybthe Government of Ghana. Car parts is one of them. Including those Kantanka imports and assembles. They could easily have priced these vehiclee much cheaper than other nee vehicles such as Nissan or Toyota. But they went another way and charge a premium by pretending they are fully engineered and built in Ghana. They are exploiting Ghanaians nationalistic pride in the great nation of Ghana.

random thoughts No I don't think anyone believe the car was engineered in Ghana 😂😂😂 Lol who are the engineers behind the project? In which facilities did they conduct their research? How come and there is no new tech in the car? Plenty questions left unattended to. The only way to start tech company is to present something new on the market so if your product is similar to what is already on the market then the price have to reduce drastically to attract buyers. The industries and the human resources required for manufacturing a car is currently not available in Ghana. The market size is even small and can't sustain a company. They should think of exporting to other countries to make more sales.

Azeez Bawumia Look at the campaign online that Kantanka has waged to convince people they are 100% Ghanaian vehicles. There are loads of videos online and interviews with fawning foreign journalists. Its great that Kantanka is generating jobs in Ghana. But why have they been suggesting that thw Ghanaian Government have not helped fund them. After all Kantanka's own Business Plan is partly based on denying the Ghanaian Economy of Duties and Taxes. They can't export the vehicles outside Ghana. They have a deal to assemble them for the Ghana Market. The Company they buy the vehicles from has similar contracts with other Companies to do what Kantanka does. I would expect there to be some form of clause in the contract that means they can't assemble the vehicles for export. After all the Chinese build these same vehicles in China for not just export the CKDs for assembly elsewhere. Even the Kantanka assembly line was engineered by the Chinese. I have said it before. Kantanka should have priced the vehicles realistically not at the same price as Japanese or Korean Imports. In fact the pick up version is more expensive than the Nissan Hardbody and not far off the price of a Toyota Hi Lux. They would sell all they could assemble if they had simply.priced them properly. A Chinese vehicle based on obsolete technology is not worth the same as a vehicle from Europe/America/Japan or Korea. In the same was a Mahindra or Tata has to be cheaper to compete with superior vehicles. You either compete on quality or price. Kantanka does neither sadly. Such a wasted opportunity for Ghana.
