I have a breeding pair of agassizii in a 20 long with a school of Harlequin Rasboras and some very large Amano shrimp. Somehow it has worked in harmony. Heavily planted.

We have our 2nd Apistogramma cacatoides spawn in a community tank shared with 10 neon tetras and 2 pygmy Corys. Her first babies didn't last very long, but hopefully some success soon.

This tank is beautiful!

Glad some of the fry survived. It would have been nice to see them throughout the video. Also.. I’ve been breeding Apistogramma for a few years and in my experience removing the eggs from the cave is the best way to get the most fry to survive.

What types of fish do you have in that apisto tank? Thinking about setting up one myself.

I have seen fry in my community tank. I feed crushed algae pellets with a syringe. My question is how big is yours now and will you remove them when they bigger? I would like to leave mine to see the parents and offspring in one tank. Did you remove yours?

So I have a question. I have a female apistogramma cockatoo in the cave watching over her eggs. Meanwhile the male is over at the other female's cave. I have three females and one male; caves all over the aquarium. I thought this could be done, but hadn't heard of anyone doing it yet. It's a forty gallon breeder aquarium. I also have a school of nine Neons, and six white cloud minnows, and four Corys. By the sounds of it, the female with her young should be able to raise them in the aquarium. There aren't any predator fish in there, so everything should be good; right?

Neons eat what they can pretty much, but they are quite shy. So if the female is good at watching the fry, you shouldn't have any issues. Good luck!

Want to watch the apistogramma, not your face

Gutted i am ive had my female macmasteri eat both lots ove eggs now male keeps away from her i think she knows she wont beable to save them so shes eaten all eggs shes showing signs again shes dug out coconut also dugout ie like trench at back ove the coconut & also piece ove driftwood shes also made trench at back ove that to she keeps going & gaurding them
