    Thanks for sharing. Have you measured how much the capacitance increases with the laquer? I guess sbout 2x? Btw old refridgerators have great vacuum pumps if youd like to try that.

    It is a transformer/motor enamel called Royal C. There are many different ones, whatever you find for motor/transformer varnish, lacquer etc. will work. The most important thing is to find something that doesn't require heat, so that you can just pot it and let it dry. Some dry faster, some take longer to dry.

    I don't know the exact model, but if you type cnc coil winder on ebay it will.pop up. There are many variations but all are the basically the same thing.

    I have a 100year old power transformer from a Scott Allwave 12 radio. The primary is shorted. Can you recommend a service which would rewind the unit for me? Would you?

    Thanks, it is called Kapton, if you search it by that name you will.find it.
