    Although he is my personal hero as well and getting Come To Daddy as a 14 year old completely flipped my brain upside down, I wouldn't call him a game changer. As in, he didn't change the game. Should he have ? Perhaps, but I don't really hear any of Aphex's influence on pop music so much.

    An Aphex Twin reaction video posted April 14th that's not the song "Avril 14th"?! 😋 I love the song "Vordhosbn" off the same album. I would describe it as a frontal attack of dynamic drum/snare riffs that still maintain a very centered feel and drives the song forward, accompanied with underlying tones of melancholy and dissociation. However, I always recommend "Alberto Balsalm " for first-time Aphex Twin listeners, simply because it is fun to listen to and the iconic "table-slide" noise is very memorable.

  • @derekfletcher8934

    @derekfletcher8934

    Hey you seem knowledgeable in Aphex Twin. I am not quite so lol. But maybe you can help me find a song of I describe it. It was on a burned mix cd someone gave me roughly in 2009 that I've unfortunately lost. It was claimed to be an Aphex Twin track on the handwritten listing. The song is about 7 minutes long with the main drone being something that sounds like a didgeridoo. It's constant. Then as the song builds there are these clapping noises and eventually chirping. That's why it sounded like a didgeridoo song to me. The bass drone gets more and more complicated as well as the tempo of the clapping sounds and in the end it goes back to that weird croaking/chirping/crickets noise. I loved training out to it and haven't been able to remember the title so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You could honestly make an entire channel out of digging into Aphex Twin's catalogue. His music is all over the place and I hear something new each time I listen through any of his albums. He's really in a league of his own. Some is chaotic and overwhelming and compositionally erratic, and some is beautiful and smooth, with surprisingly emotional content. It's difficult to recommend another track of his to check out because... they're almost all worth checking out.

I love BoC just taking a stab xD It's beautiful but the beauty is not in the compositional novelty) Also I wish he picked a better Aphex/AFX song.... Because Squarepusher was gonna blow out the speakers a third of the way through the first day. He threw a massive fucking tantrum and just played midi bass noodling for 40 minutes interspersed with him screaming at the sound guy 'd'you like that? Do you? Is it fucking loud enough for you?' Me and my mate were high as a kite so it was hilarious to watch, but a pretty shite and very disappointing 'set'
