Yeh man... I agree. All I want it's a nerf for aim assist, like, do controller players have not to aim at all in a fps game??? The thing about aim assist is that even a player who knows how to play a lil bit on a controller can turn aim assist to max and beam at low-medium range. Mouse players have to train hours and hours to learn how to be good at tracking and find their sensitivities too. Don't come with arguments now to tell me "bUt yOu dOnT kNoW hOw hArD iT iS tO aiM oN cOntRoLLeR". Bro, I litteraly plugged my controller, did some internet settings, went firing range and instantly see the difference. IT TAKES NO SKILL COMPARED TO MNK PLAYERS. That's all I have to say. I did a 1v1 against a normal controller player in firing range, he was litteraly beaming me. Did 1v1 against mnk players better than me, I had a lot more chances to beat them.

As a console player, I can always tell when I’m killed by someone on pc because I’ll hit every shot on my screen and still die. The latency issues with console make apex almost impossible to go up against anyone using a good pc. I’ve thought about switching to pc, but the price for a good one has kept me away from them. I don’t want to spend triple what a console cost for a competitive rig. Not to mention you can’t get components still.
@fistofram5526

Good PC and latency in the same phrase. This just shows how stupid console players are. Good PC has NOTHING to do with latency, lmao. You could have the best setup (hardware) and still have 80-120 ping in your own region. Can't even differ that hahaha
God this is an incredible video it's just so fun to watch. Another thing i'd like to add as well is that when people talk about pc players complaining about aim assist, they tend to miss the point which is not that aim assist is op, but rather makes the skill gap on console much less wide and can give even the worst players an advantage. I'm all for controller players being able to compete with pc but you need to fine tune the aim assist and make it much more based on your aim rather than a flat value of aim assist that everyone gets. Great video!
I switched my aa to PC values(.04) on console for a season and a half and still made diamond solo q. I didn't notice much difference except when in very close range shotgun/smg fights it was harder to hit my shots and especially against my fellow console .06 aa players. Overall good game sense/positioning and proper aim will keep the good players close to where they already are, but I'm a big supporter of them nerfing aa on console to .04 because it would be nice to widen the skill gap amongst us for sure. Kinda tired of getting wrecked by some random lvl 150 player that doesn't even stow their weapon or slide jump just because they shot me in the side a split second before I reacted. INCREASE THE DAMN SKILL GAP is my vote!

Videos like this are very important. Competitive fps games need to evolve and roller players need to become aware of their handicap. Aiming should take skill and practice to master
@marcybons
Жыл бұрын
it does still take skill and practice to master though. the console aim assist doesn't magically give people "easier" aim than on PC, it's set the way it is to make up for other mechanical differences so that the end result for the console player is as close as possible to the PC player. the aim assist is set to make the learning curve the same, not easier, and the value needs to be different because the platforms and aiming tools (sticks vs mk) are different. it's honestly not that complicated, like he says in the video there's just a lot of misconceptions about how these things actually WORK floating around. i'm a controller player, probably more on the casual side bc while apex is my main game it isn't the only one i play. i've watched guides and tried to consciously improve my aim over time. it's still taken me like 2 years to get to the point where i've gotten my first 10 kill game and 2k+ damage badges. my kdr from the last half of s5 / s6 (when i started playing) was 0.33 / 0.44. now it's finally 1.00. people need to stop spreading the myth that console aim assist is some magic button you hit to turn an aimbot on.

@@marcybons listen man, I started on the controller so I know where you are coming from. I’m aware of the skill gap on controller but tbh I don’t think you have the whole picture here. PC higher fps and lower input lag doesn’t make up for extremely unbalanced up close rotational aim assist. There is a reason why pro teams require a roller player nowadays. To have a truly unbiased take you have to have a lot of experience on both inputs and be at a certain skill level. 1kd console lobbies don’t experience the same level of frustrations with how strong aim assist truly is and how sweats have learned to completely abuse it.

@@okaycoop5856 yeah no. Aim assist is not any type of helper. It makes controller players have a change against a pc player. You test this by playing on controller in pc lobbies, the only reason pc players lose is skill but cry about AA when it’s their gameplay choices that made them lose. That’s they ONLY issue people have with AA, they just went against someone who landed more shots or had a better load out. Yet, with pc players they have movement, better control, tap straffing etc… this argument is mute because it comes down to skill, especially considering the fact that AA hinders you majorly by slowing down your aim and youd have to change the settings close to pc setting in order to avoid that

Yo, this video editing is nice bro! Keep doing what you’re doing.
Played apex on console for almost two years (now on pc). I still think aa is needed for console players, all they have is a little thumbstick to aim, while pc players literally a whole mouse mat. After a week of work I come to play some apex and chill and 80% of time some god tier Aim assisted players that 3 stacking kill me. I don't enjoying apex anymore. even nowadays the thing stays like this; you drop hotzone, get a weapon and die to someone jumping and hitting every shot if you miss one of yours like bad recoil control or misstep or some shit.
I played apex on Xbox to begin with, and never had aim assist on, because I was so used to playing R6 which has no aim assist at all unless you're on the T hunt mode, which even then I had turned off for consistency. Apex I never took too seriously where as Siege I was religiously playing ranked day in day out. Ever since my switch to PC however, going back to controller on Siege feels so much harder than I remember. I couldn't play like I used to. I went back to it for an entire week on xbox and absolutely could not hit shots at all. Whilst siege wont ever change that as I dont think they're ever going to bring PC/Console cross platform out, I can see why apex and so on has such a thing for console players. It is so much harder. It was already mentioned that consoles are worse performing than PC's (in most cases). Another thing to note is that consoles are more so targeted to casual gamers as a whole, being cheaper and much more simple to use. Where as our stupid expensive PC rigs are usually targeted to those either rich enough to just splash out for the hell of it, or gamers who absolutely take their games seriously. There is of course a casual and competitive community on both PC and Console, but this is just a generalisation of specific target audiences. It makes much more sense that someone who is physically striving to be the absolute best in the world at a game, especially FPS' would build an expensive, absolute top of the range PC and peripherals in order to maximise their PC's performance to ensure the smoothest, fastest gaming experience so that they dont miss out on anything that could potentially hinder them if they were playing on a console that can only do X amount that a PC can.
The production on this video oh my!
What kind of nebula and curiosity stream video is this LMAO
i play console and PC and before i got my PC i didnt really think about AA all that much i didnt notice the difference other than on console when i had .6 it frustrated me because i would have my aim dragged to look at shit i wasnt even trying to look at (like when skydiving sometimes the .6 AA just locks onto a team if theyre too close and spins your aim around so if you arent locking your flight path it completely screws your skydive up) .4 felt more comfortable to me but i had to try not get too close before i cracked someone because .6 hit more shots ofc. i personally feel like perhaps .5 for the old gen console might be a good middle ground? Just since next gen consoles will (hopefully soon) get their higher frames and such so .4 for them and keeping .4 for pc would be nice

I loved that day actually It felt like a LTM in console lobbies where AA is turned off lol
I remember this day, but I didn't feel the difference because I was already playing on .4 (you can change this in ALC if you're on console)
crazy how that day i got my first 15 kill 3000 dmg game

the day no roller player could get any kills cause the AA didnt do most of the work, roller scrubs are hilarious and yeah i do play roller sometimes just to see how it compares and how to counter it the best, anyone saying its not a huge deal is on copium and cant handle the fact they need AA to kill anything, if you arent handicaped and main roller on pc youre just playing easy mode cause you cant aim with m/k.
My bro Scythe going at it with the edits
I think they should put it back to 0.4, that way people will understand will get better in other things like movement or game sense.
I think that in a COMPETITIVE shooter there should be no assistants at all. Turn off all assistants to them in general, let them learn to play. To play well on a mouse, you need to spend a lot of time on training programs, and vegetables with gamepads need to be poke on the buttons for a week, and thanks to the assistants they already play well.

I didn't even know this ever happened I played that season as well and never noticed difference that season until I seen this video so thx good content I guess some ppl really do abuse aim assist
if you've ever 1v1'd a decent controller players close range, you know for a fact controller is completely broken. not to say it doesnt have its intricacies, but bottom line is that close range, its literally an aimbot, and its not even debatable how with how strong it is. rotational aim assist is the problem, it literally aims for you, with out you needing to react.
Rotational AA needs to be removed entirely if it's a PC lobby. No reason that controller should be dominating both platforms due to artificial assistance. People complain about why the skill floor in apex is so high, and the answer is literally because of controller. Artificial "skill" creates a higher "skill" floor. Controller shouldn't be competing in the pro scene at all unless there's zero artificial assistance through RAA. Those who don't believe AA is unfair, I highly encourage you to try the opposite input style and you'll see just how absurd it is. Rotational AA may not have been in your previous games since it's a relatively new "feature", but dear god is it fucking broken.
I play on M & K but aim assist is not broken it is needed for controller players
I never really noticed this cause I set my aim assist values to PC on console. Should I maybe go back to 0.6 to see how strong it is?
very informative!! I learned a lot and knowledge is power thanks for that 💪
I remember when that happened way back when storm point got released or a month after it I mean you can notice it I tried playing on 0.4 aim assist for about 3 days you can hit longer shots better but up close you can't then I switched back and you basically dont have to do anything just hold the right stick in place and let the aim assist do it's job
The Linus tech tips clips he put up at 2:00 is a video about gyro aim. The thing that would mandate the removal of aim assist as it’s just mouse aim for controllers
I used to be VERY passionate in thinking AA is way too strong in Apex. While I still think it should be nerfed a bit (0.4 on console after they get next gen updates), the real advantage controllers have is their ALC, which is why I used to think controller was broken. But even if it is, considering PC has access to utilities like rawaccel, ALC isn't cheating. If anything, PC should get access to something like rawaccel in game, which would allow players to fine-tune their settings even in tourneys. Just like console should get access to more precise movement without the use of macros or scripts. And boom, near perfectly balanced between platforms and inputs(. And before you say it, console players, wait a bit longer for hall-effect sensor thumbstick equipped controllers. Because those don't have any drift. At that point, IMO, a better matchmaking system (basically soft resetting your MMR each season), better ranked system (one that isn't too ratty or killracy, basically season 9 ranked without demotion protection), reworking legend passives and a steady stream of bug fixes and new content is all Apex needs to be "perfect".
Crossplay? I can play with my friend on if he on xbox and im pc?
Some constructive advice for the editor and ottr there were way too much sound effects during the graphics. I found it distracting and unnecessary. They looked very high quality though
So, I remember playing this day. I had a pretty decent evening, not exceptional but not bad. Honestly, I didn't notice a difference (don't know what that says about my aim lol). I'm on xbox and would be fine with aim assist being set at 0.4. I'm more interested in a rework to sbmm (who isn't).
You say this but when I was practicing in the firing range I forgot to turn aim assist back on and I didn’t notice it for about a month
Im not that good at the game but i never noticed a change and i looked at my stream from when the update hit and nothing changed for me
I’m a console player and I still struggle with aim. I’m definitely not beaming people on controller.
I been hearing from PC player that us on Xbox or Playstation have aim assist and it not fair or like we are cheating. I personally hate their opinion on the matter because they see me as a Cheater because I'm not playing on a PC with them? I feel like it getting to the point it feels the same as raciest. I don't cheat. I don't full around with my settings beside turning off getting out of a death box when shot, to Armor Switch because Xbox and playstation can't move when doing so vs PC can duck,or move side to side. My aim is not at the level where I beam people and doesn't miss a single or I would Quit Apex. There will be no skills in the game. No way of me getting better at the game with my skill, just boarding. Yes I know there some settings that turn Aim assist on a level where you can follow players easier but like I said before, that a type of player,I dislike myself or a player without enough skill to play the game right. What I'm saying stop sending the hate this way to Xbox, PlayStation. Show us some respect and drop the aim assist talk.
I played a lot at the time, and didn't notice the change. This makes me wonder if my aim assist even works
Crossplay would take a hit. Apex would lose a decent amount of players. Your friends playing on controller on consoles would consistently rage quit. Queue times increase. The only positive thing is roller players finally realize that aim assist in mid to close range SMG fights is a cheat code.
Honestly, the bigger problem is tapstrafing on controller, yes pc players can do it, but we don’t have aim assist while doing it. I don’t really get mad any more if a level 50 banga console player beams me, because I was there once as well. I’m all for aim assist I just think there are bigger issues that need to be handled.

I dont really care about this argument, but when I tried using roller just once I literally beam people low-mid range with the least amount of effort I do on mnk, even tho I was just waddling around. Just knowing when to take peaks was enough to outplay people, to the point that it wasnt funny lmao. Plus not all mnk players are sweaty enough to learn tap strafing or wall bouncing, you literally can still see people waddling on mnk, and pros in rollers have proven it possible to use movement tech. One more take is that apex is literally a br game where people get up close to fight, unlike warzone, pubg, etc., where more than half of the player base uses a sniper as a secondary. And who's aim benefits the most at low-mid range? the one with 0.6 AA of course KEKW, the aim assist should be set that at least half of the aim from those beams should come from the player himself, not an AI. (inb4 someone tells me to "just giT gUd" and "sTOp cRyIng" OMEGALUL)
I remember a friend saying that eas unplayable and that they did nerf it, i didn't feel it since I had it off, but man I did enjoy the battles a bit more, people who ran to you no thoughts only monkey with smgs actually thought before approaching and if they didn't i had a much easier time winning
ottr i have learned a lot with your videos i play in mobile but still your tips help a lot thank you for your videos 😁
Funny thing is this was the funniest event that happens in Apex for me
The only solution would be to give an option before queuing up to have mouse and keyboard only lobbies. In addition, there should be an option for only controller lobbies with AA turned off for hardcore controller players.
Honestly this shit is why gyro aim instead of aim assist should be industry standard. It bridges the gap between sticks and mouse. 1:1 controls where you can make flicks and small precise corrections.
It's pretty straightforward; aim assist is designed for people who are bad. The worse you are, the more you can benefit from it. This is why top tier players see no difference in their performance when switching between MnK or the sticks.
Bro this was the best day. I literally had a 30 kd. .4 creates a skill gap on console. .6 has everyone beaming, no matter how bad. They’ll literally be waddling around and then one clip you
Why the random mw2019 clip of shroud at the end though?
honestly, as a console player i loved this change even if it was for a bit, ive always set my aim assist on 0.4 through the alc settings because ive always thought that 0.6 has always been too strong, and theres an argument for 0.4 being too strong aswell but thats not the topic rn, but i liked this change because i felt like everyone was equal and people who were too reliant on the 0.6 aim assist had to actually experience what others experience, but now that its gone i will still continue to purposely lower my aim assist and I do hope that aim assist would get nerfed soon

I've played kbm for FPS games all my life and I agree that controller players should have aim assist and yes it should be 0.4 and not more than that. Also since you're already good on 0.4, you should still stick to controller when you get your PC, you'd be a beast with the better frame rates
i played modern warfare 2 (original) with aim assist off on ps3 because i fucking hated it when 2 people crossed paths in front of my reticle causing it to stick to the space between both players causing me to miss unintentionally
As a console player who recently swapped to pc and mnk. I played w roller on pc and it feels the same as console basicly
I wish respawn would lower aim assist to 0.4 on console permanently or give the option between the .4 and .6. I play 4 3 sense and I prefer 0.4 waaay more than 0.6. The slow down on 0.6 is too much. Whenever I play on pc controller, my aim with 0.4 in pc lobbies is better. I still beam on console but I one clip people much more consistently on pc. 0.6 is only better if you play a higher ads sense which most console players unfortunately seem to do. 9/10 times I spectate someone (that 5th partied me lol), their sense is way faster than they can handle which is why they rely on the aim assist but that doesn't help them in hip fire situations where they can't hit anything lol. Get in a console players face and they can't hit shots.
I started to play without aa since season 10 and I'm remember this day cause that was the only day when console lobby was finaly good
