Apb did better customization then all WWE games and that’s coming from someone who also loved WWE for the character customization. Apb really topped a lot of games it’s to a point I’m still on apb to this day in Xbox servers just to make t shirt ideas for rl and just make characters new ideas etc for later ideas for comics and shit

I remember trying to enjoy this game. It was hard. I could either never load in or was just incredibly bored

i love how saints row 2 brings people together in the most unexpected of places

I always wanted APB to be singleplayer

This game was my go to back in 2015-2016, when I had a very low-end laptop at the time. Customization was phenomenal, but the toxic community and poor optimization is what made me scarred from playing it again.

Oh the 2000s. Oh i miss those times when games were completed on day one. Had full content and didn't have to be sold as dlc instead.

Character customization in APB stills insane to this day. I've been playing it since 2012. After the rebranding into APB Reloaded. The problem with it is. They trying so hard to bring the new engine alive (since 2014 iirc) because the older engine can't take it anymore and is taking it's toll... And the new engine (the one in console versions) is far from optimized.

I played this back when it started. It was pretty broken but I got to say the toxicity nostalgia is making me want to go back.

The only time I played this game the entire hub was just insulting a guy who was playing some shitty death metal through his 2010 walmart headset

Although, it was an unstable , unfinished game. Apb felt more like saints row than the actual saints row reboot.

I feel like SR3 should've went for APB's blend of traditional urban gangster aesthetics and early-2010s neon MySpace scenekid style

No way... I never thought you'd cover this game. I loved the customization of this game and I enjoyed the gameplay personally. The customization in this game to me personally is like still not beaten to this day for me.

I tried a few times to get into it but there were so many road blocks I couldn't never get very far.

Man I forgot this game existed, I heard about it ages ago but never played it myself. Might have to give it a whirl.

This game is a Guilty Pleasure of mine. Played it tons back in the day. Don't really play it now. But I still think about it very often. And here is my fav experience with the game. So I never wanted to spend money on the game for a new outfit. But I went really far into the game. But one day I went against a super sweaty criminal team. It was a 2v1, with me all by myself. Miraculously I beat them and they were stunned. One even said "we just got beat by the noobiest muthaucka." They then tried convincing me that they knew a glitch to get clothes for free and it involved messing with the save file. So instead I drove away and kept doing missions while they followed me around for I shit you not... 6 hours. I wanted to stop playing but they were so damn entertaining! I just had to keep going. They ended up getting kicked from the server for team killing each other cuz they got bored. Good times.

1:32-1:46 I feel like MrSaintGodzilla only brought up this game rat on the Saints Row Reboot.

I still play this game like once every year or every 2 years. I have about 1k hours on it. Long story short, somehow the most toxic environment I've played. You can log in into any district and witness people going ape shit on the text chat. Yes text chat, There's a reason I turned off my VOIP. There's usually just a handful of players in each district, and if you check out the hours these players have in the game, they are usually around the 10k mark. It is fucking insane. I started playing APB after I felt disappointed with how Saints Row curved after SR2. Its customization, when understood completely, does surpass Saint's Rows. While the game can't be said to be Pay to Win, at least anymore, there's a clear gap between unlocking an item that will give you the extra edge, and just paying a few bucks. Which allows hackers to re-roll easily. I'd say the game is enjoyable if you tag friends along, but the friends I've convinced to download APB usually play once and then straight up disagree to ever play again.

I STILL PLAY THIS GAME!

This shit unironically just reminds me of Roblox voice chat, which might be a strange comparison since Roblox is considered to be a children's game but there's little to no moderation when it comes to the voice chat and it's filled to the brim with people exactly like this.

The combat is weird, the sensitivity when aiming and the fact that there are no headshots which confused me the first time i played

a few times years apart I would hear about this game and look into it, at no point did it ever look like it did previously, either my memory is bad or it keeps changing, also I feel like at some point it was entirely dead?

I can't forget I spend 2k on the console version for Xbox. Ichise, if yall ever seen me Frivolous, if yall ever played why bro. Shout out to the OGs like PandaLV, Jinto, WizardPaladin, Elementary etc. (People like panda made clothing, WizardPaladin/ Jinto perfected Ntec combat and perk use) The game is nothing like saints row, nothing like GTA in terms of Customization

The time I played APB was the only time. The only extremely funny thing that happened was when I teamed up with a person that was as new as me and played a mission. Funnily enough the people we were versing were also extremely new to the game. Whenever I would find the other players they would be screaming and laughing at the game. I crashed as many times as they did too. At the end of it we all found the actual objective and they let my team win because it was completely chaos. The game is a poor mess but the players are kool.

I miss HvK SmokaCola's videos of APB, they got me to laugh damn hard many times.

Damn the toxicity in voice chat on the console versions seems insane. if I do remember correctly the voice chat on PC doesnt work, cuz i have almost 600 hrs on steam and a bit more from back when it was on gamersfirst, and I've never heard anyone in voice chat ever. But yeah even without voice chat the game is definitely still very toxic, I've gotten tons of messages from people calling me a hacker or just insulting me because I've fairly killed them. Sad to see this game slowly dying out but that's been going on for years now, and I dont think there is a salvation coming. Had great times on this game and still pop in every few months for a few weeks. It was cool to see a video on APB from saintsgodzilla tho, this game isn't talked about enough for what it has accomplished especially in the cosmetics section imo. Would be cool to see a follow up video from you talking more about the good sides of this game maybe.

The PC version's Vivox voice support has been broken for quite a long time, iirc it was a legacy service they were providing as a courtesy until they absolutely couldn't anymore. The 1.30 patch did bring population back to the servers though! You can play on modern hardware without constant crashes like before. It's a far cry from the engine update, but I'll take being able to actually play over nothing.

Well it's the console version and on the Na servers seem like (both less populated option) the og pc version as way "more" player and tend to be less toxic(well there's still toxic people and hacker but no people ddosing the whole server) and no one use the game voice chat(maybe because it's broken)

I still remember it! But its not worth your time. You (lvl 1) will be pitched against max lvl players, it's not fun. And the game gives the advantage to criminal players... good luck fighting crime when the guys stealing the store are 20 levels higher than you and have paid weapons who will kill you with two shots. The customization is good but it's not worth the hassle. You get attacked by players with much more powerful weapons, so you have a hard time getting money, so you either pay to win, or quit the game.

I always sucked at the game for years but man I trashed talked like crazy I never blocked anyone since I was the guy getting blocked every day

It's annoying that games today release in a similar, or worse state than APB, yet they get a pass. This game was so ambitious, but ultimately failed and the company behind it went bankrupt. It's a shame. If a game like this game out today it could be huge.
