Haha! I'm actually one of the Chem Sci scholars (3rd year). I did the physics modules though so I know the combo can be intense! And you defo have a chance, a lot of it is just not burning out. Some people thought the schols physics paper last year was a bit easier than our christmas exam. It'll be a busy semester with lab reports and all, but you'll get loads of time over xmas to do past papers :). Hopefully it goes well and I see you in commons next year!!!@@MarioFabelo

The thing I'm more worried about is the fact that reports exist. Do you have any more suggestions for preparing the Physics papers? Any detail that you remember studying and that turned out to be useful? We'll see if I can make it. It's mostly on me and on whether I can figure out time management. Would love to see you in Commons if it happens. I assume you're in Halls, right? Do most 3rd-year Scholars live in Halls?

Yeah I found your channel sometime last year! Was excited to find a Phys/Chem student, and you make really high-quality content too. A good few people know your channel in general - all good things though! :) Personally I didn't sit the physics schols papers (we don't have to - I choose maths to go with my chem papers), but the xmas exams were hard enough tbh. Thermo is stressful the whole semester - but I swear, keep working on it and it'll just sort of click sometime. There's honestly a lot of memorisation in S1 of second yr though, I find. Definitely refer to the books they reccomend at the start of each lecture series though - my friends who sat schols found a load of it pulled from those books and helped understanding. I can always ask them for some more advice too - nobody got it last year but a couple were very close and were sick right before exams, so it easily could've gone another way (as you'll find with a lot of people with them!). Don't underestimate the maths papers - a lot of people do - but physics is tough. You can have a good idea of what questions are what on each paper though - which means you can kind of focus on certain topics you're better at. The second yr content is more valued though - so don't stress if you can't find too much time for going over first year during the semester! Reports are strssful haha, especially chem every wk. You get used to them though, I swear. A lot of the physics ones can help with the content in class too, if you do the right ones. The chem ones do that too, but they're ordered so weirdly haha. (like the organic labs before you do the organic lectures!). I think most physics 3rd yrs have less reports this year - so you can look forward to that! Yeah, most 3rd year Scholars are out halls these days - it was changed to be in Halls couple years ago for your first year of schols (it used to be on campus). You can take cash instead, but its a tiny amount in comparison. It's pretty nice though - theres a good community of us here, so it works out well. @@MarioFabelo

I wanted to ask you about the Chemistry MO Theory subject of the 1st semester of 2nd year. This year Professor Morris is teaching it but he is just uploading recorded lectures online. I’m going through them and I wanted to ask you whether all the detail that he goes into (quantum-mechanics wise) is actually useful towards the exam? Best thing you can do is email your student accommodation asking about it! I still think that it should not be a problem but better to ask so that you do not stress out about it on the day!

Por poder sí que puedes claro! Hay 4 enchufes debajo del escritorio y otros dos enchufes donde la cama! En primer año puedes tener la opción de quedarte en Trinity Hall (residencia de primer año de Trinity) y es más barato (casi la mitad) y estás solo con gente de primer año de Trinity lo cual está guay! Yo no estuve en Trinity Hall porque no me dieron place entonces estuve en otra residencia privada cerca de en la que estoy ahora! Estoy estudiando Physical Sciences! Gracias a ti! : )

Qué bien! Me alegro muchísimo! Cómo así le han aceptado tan pronto? Normalmente para internacionales suelen dar las plazas en abril o mayo. Es para un intercambio? Depende de si sois internacionales o no que es diferente como funciona todo el proceso de admisión. Becas son raras salvo por “low-income” que se ofrece a los estudiantes de la Unión Europea. Los estudiantes sí que muchos trabajan a tiempo parcial! De hecho curiosamente este domingo voy a sacar un vídeo entrevistando a estudiantes acerca de este tema; preguntando acerca de cómo gestionan el dinero los estudiantes y que oportunidades hay de ganar dinero mientras se estudia!

Él es un estudiante mitad egipcio y mitad colombiano y para los estudiantes internacionales es muy costoso (49.000€!!)😢 Ojalá en el video incluyas que tanto se puede trabajar considerando los majors y su carga académica . Hi! You should make sure to make a booking for a room in Dublin and you only need to pay the first month 260-290€ and then if you don’t get accepted you can just leave it and they may even give you that money back! Student accommodation opens in November and by January it’s usually sold out everywhere so make sure to do it before they are all taken!

@@michelazardini8829 Not true. My friends that had a single en-suite payed 180€ per week at Halls. And one friend of mine was sharing a room with another person and it was even cheaper for him. Halls is about half (roughly 60%) of what it costs in private accommodation so that you make yourself an idea

Aparto Beckett House. It’s a student residence so any student can stay as far as I know. Masters too!

Yeah, why not. I still don’t like that they have extended their contracts to 51 weeks to force people to pay for the summer just because the demand is so high and they can do whatever they want. I have been in both Yugo and Aparto and they feel the same tbh

@@juleneidhart1165 Oh and I didn’t answer to your question about the area. Well, it’s at the end of Parnell street. Not the best area tbh. Walking around there at night never feels too safe and I have seen really weird and scary stuff when I have walked to O’Connell to catch a bus to the airport for an early flight. I’m moving out to Nideo Ardee Point next year in search of a more chill area and still close to campus.

@@giorgiolacanna it’s so expensive I know bro. Accommodation costs x3 more than the academic year tuition fees in Dublin. I’m thankfully high middle class but if I’m in Dublin it’s because I couldn’t afford studying at the UK. If I was really rich I’d be in the UK but that would cost me 27K tuition and 8K accommodation per year. Right now I pay 3K tuition and 11K accommodation per year but UK would be almost three times that 😅

Having been in both Trinity Rooms and Prison, I can confidently say prison has more charm...
