I think you went with Marina Del Rey. I once went on a short yacht ride out of there, but became seasick almost immediately, so me and all my friends I was traveling to Catalina Island with had to turn around. I was so bummed!! But what a great location, so congratulations !!
I love your optimistic spirit - hoping it wasn't going to hold us back on getting the apt that we do not have jobs - LOL !!!

I loved unit no.2 and 5 ! Both views were breathtaking. Was surprised when you said 6 was in the running because I thought the lack of natural light and no view would have been an issue but excited and happy for you !

it's true, no 6 didn't have a ton of light but the tall ceilings made it feel homey and added some airiness! We really liked 5 too but the kitchen + no in-unit laundry were big red flags to us
I think you went with #2! I’m from South Bay and it’s definitely more family oriented.
Can't wait to look at things I can't afford!

wait i need advice! how did you score an apartment without providing income?! tips?
I'd bet a bottle of chick-fil-a sauce that you chose #2!
I'm also in LA, wfh and thought about moving closer to the beach to increase my quality of life as well and #2 was on my list. However, the reviews on Yelp and Google are so bad.. lots of complaints about elevators, very thin walls etc. Are you having any issues? I can't decide if I want to live closer to the beach (MDR, Santa Monica etc) but in a more outdated place whereas I can have much more luxurious place more inland... as most reasonably priced by the beach are so outdated looking (popcor ceilings etc), and for the same price, even at $3.5k I could get a 2 br townhouse in the SFV. It's so overwhelming!

I’m curious. How do you get approved for an apartment without employment? Because I’ve been trying and there is no way they’re approving me without proof of employment.

found them on apartments.com or by looking at google maps in the areas I was interested in!
Girl I can’t parallel park. You don’t have to worry about that where I live. It’s there any way around parallel parking there??

I pretty much only use Apartments.com! I think it's pretty extensive!

The units range from $3700 to $4400! Cheapest option was Hermosa Beach, all the options in marina del Rey were over $4k!

so far from LA! Came down to that really! I'll be starting the job hunt soon so wanted to stay near more companies, but also in general, feels more sleepy down there
