Portland native

Thank you for posting the pricing and the general area of the apartment. I've been apartment hunting and a lot of these places don't provide videos of the studio apartment they have for rent.

hihi, I'm living in California now but it is so expensive to live here. so I decide to move to Portland in March. I searched many apartments (studio or 1b) but they are all around or over 1,400. where did you search the apartments? they look so nice and in the budget at the same time!! Thank you so much for sharing, it helps a lot!

This video is a couple years old. Portland rent is just exploding. I hope you can find something! CA is just untenable now, per what I've seen recently, with pricing. Something has got to give.

I'm jealous of these prices. Anything like this in Jan 2023 is >$1300 and I was searching these exact neighborhoods too. Also glad to see people on the internet not just crapping on the visibly bad parts of the city.

Been in Portland 22 years. You are close to a lot of great stuff. I'm also in SE, and would have to say you've got to try Hoda's, Salt and Straw, Hapa Ramen, and E-San Thai. I haven't been doing a ton of wandering during the pandemic, but I get takeout from these places often.

I’m moving to Portland soon!! This video is so helpful!! I think I’ll expand my search because downtown is super expensive!

Yay! From another transplant, welcome!! Totally recommend central/south east Portland! Better area imo and generally less expensive.

I am going to start looking at apartments this month! I currently live downtown, I have a studio but I’m sick of it! Buttt holy crap 1bedroom is soooo expensive!!

such a coincidence!! my boyfriend and i are moving from seattle to portland in august! we found our new apartment in the southwest side.

Talia Lea honestly just going on evening walks is so nice. On super hot days I’ve been going to sellwood waterfront park to play in the river! Also thrifting of course 👏🏻

I’ll have to guess and say you moved from this unit once you received your renewal? Why do I say that? Well what many new renters don’t factor in is that amortized special you received yes , does lower your rent but when it comes to renewing your lease the renew rate goes back to the original price plus the $50 to $150+ increase rate. I always tell my future renters yes the amortized rate is amazing but if you plan is to stay longer than a year be aware the renewal rate. By the way the wall paint …. It is a low voc paint to stay with in the green parameters of the building commitment to the Green PNW Initiative.

hello! i have recently found myself binge watching portland apartment hunting bc i plan to move in a year and a half and want to get an idea of what to look for. i loved apartment 8! would there be anyway you can tell me the name of the building! totally understandable if you can’t for safety purposes but i’d love to check it out when i go apartment hunting myself!

I might take a place with no pet rent just on principle alone lol. My pet rent is only $10/month but I think it’s so ridiculous.

I’m apartment shopping in Portland atm and could not find any that were under 1200!! Do you mind sharing the name of these complexes? That would help tremendously!

did you consider other places or were you always drawn to Portland? I'm thinking of cities in both Washington and Oregon and I'm curious what was behind your decision

Portland was always of interest to me! I didn’t want to live anywhere in WA because it was ridiculously expensive and not very exciting in my opinion 😂

WYL2K totally depends on the person. If I were to choose between those two, I’d 100% choose Bellingham :)

How do you like it so far also do you know the sq ft of your studio? Wow you found a great deal! I'm also looking into studios to move into as well these coming months!!

Hi! My apartment is just under 500 sq ft and I feel like it’s plenty of room for me and my kitty :) I have a full size bed, 3 seater fold out couch, desk area, kitchen area, and still have extra space!! I absolutely love it here. I hope you find the best studio for you too! Are you moving to Portland?

How did you find 10 apartments under $1200 that are pet friendly and not gross?? I’m genuinely asking. I’m looking to move and am NOT finding apartment like this in this price range that allow pets. Please help.

Hey! I’d recommend apartments.com. A ton of apartments are also doing deals like 8 weeks free. Also, if your pet is ESA certified they can’t deny you :) hope that helps!

Oh my gosh the cost of living in Portland is half what it is in LA. Those apartments would easily be 2000 a month in LA

Ya you moved to a whreally bad state oregon sucks especially portland oregon that place is a nightmare glad you got your place though but lots of luck to you.
