I'm not Native American, but I love the music, and their traditions, a close friend if mine is Cherokee, and his love for the water, mother earth, and sky, the very things that sustain life, their culture, and the dances, the children learning from the elders to preserve their traditions, it's all so beautiful.... I have total Respect for all tribes. It's just so sad and wrong what the government did to all Natives, from so long ago, and to this day, the treaties still aren't observed or done as they should have been centuries ago, and they still live in poverty. The government took their land, annals killed and so many are gone forever. But I just want to say how beautiful this song is, and the music they make from a wooden instrument, and sounds that are beautiful. Much love and respect to my Native Friend, and to all NATIVE AMERICANS.......

Funny that I am thinking about this now with a huge lump in my throat .. he would take us into the forest and at the edge would erect a tepee , wore only long pants and sandals and many, many beats .. a beautiful feather in his black hair ... his squaw, my mother dressed in a burlap short shift and so I was dressed .. only 8 years old. My grand mother (his mom) participated in the same attire. His brother and wife shared in the ceremony .. uncle Eric made the Pow Wow drum ...Drumming connects you with your bones, your heartbeat, and your natural rhythms. You connect with the drum by holding it close to your heart and letting your feelings, transfer into the drum. When we breathe, we all beat upon a common drum." @@MsMieze Karl May made 2 trips in America. Ofcourse the characters are not real but he traveled in America . I know what you are talking about ... My mama read me all the books of Karl May's "Winnetou" before I was able to read! And, till now, I can not stop reading his novels. At least once a year I take one of them from our old library and I read it with a great plesure! I can tell you that the german movies based on his stories made my eastern european childhood happier. At that time we knew almost nothing about the amerindians and even about americans. In a comunist country many things were forbidden... But his stories fascinated us so much not only beacause the adventures of Old Shatterhand, Winnetou, Sam Hawkins, Old Firehand, or Old Surehand... but because the spirit of humanity which Karl May' s opera reveals. This is why, after the comunism died in my country, one of my dreams became true! I was in Radebeul, I visited Karl May's Museum and my heart was singing in a rithm of the same indian drum -::))))!

Sorry to disagree but I am Comanche and realize that life in this land before the Caucasians (not "whitemen"...actually flesh toned etc.) was more brutal than anyone could imagine..Imagine theAztecs sacrificing teenage virgins to a fake god!!! Being realistic i have written two novels depicting AUTHENTIC Native American life how it really was a thousand years ago..It was all SURVIVAL not respecting Nature as the Liberals have professed..I am proud of my French German and Comanche bloodlines but try to keep it real..You should read the magnificent book COMANCHES by Ferenbach (himself native American) to get to the facts of all this..have a peaceful day above ground!

Get over yourselves and stop complaining. If you don't like it then go back to Siberian and Mongolia where your people came from.

***** HALITO Angel, it is very easy to learn the Chickasaw language. (Chickashanompa) go online to the Chickasaw nation and look up the language or "speak Chickasaw" on the website. there are tutorials on there that you can learn from. you can click on the words and a native speaker pronounces the word so you can teach yourself. of course you could enroll in a language class to learn Chickasaw but they are given in a classroom in Aida Oklahoma. I listen to KCMP 89.5 live radio from Oklahoma and they have a native speaker that comes on during the mornings and gives out words to learn in Chickasaw but you can also find all of those words on the website to. www.kcnpradio.org for the radio station and for the website its, www.chickasaw.tv/home/list/kcnp just click at the top of the page where it says language. Hope this helps, I don't know if other tribes provide the same information for there languages.

We should never be ashamed of our heritage what ever it may be. The good in people shows us the way to live and the bad teaches us how not to behave. I am not Native American I am mix English French and heaven knows what else. But when I listen to this music I cry and want to go home. Stop hating each other and humans may have a chance to live peaceful ly.

I enjoyed the music and video. I get more out the American native culture than my religion that I grew up With. I feel more connected with nature and the simple things in life. At the moment I m studying in a care course. I m learning about different culture s. I would to learn how to show respect for people with different culture. I m hoping to work a health care assistant again. I enjoy working the elderly people. The American natives have so much to offer to this world. Many many blessing to native American s. Miriam

We are all part of one humanity; each has suffered in their own time. We look to the past for knowledge not to live in the atrocities. One must acknowledge them as they are part of yesterday. I have learned something in my life journey., do not always live in yesterday or you rob yourself in the beauty of Creation today and the wonderment. Our future is dependent upon this realization. We as individuals have the ability each and every moment to change our energy and our thought process by seeing yesterday for what it is. It is to learn from so that the atrocities are not repeated to this nation of many nations. We all must be vigilant in the now so we arent tricked by those who want to manifest the new world order.

DWolfLycan III I want to say my spirit is hurting when we can't live together in peace and love there's to much hatred and disrespect. I remember when I was in Forster care years ago my grandfather who's my mom's real father came to my sister and I my uncle said he's my grandfather I knew he wasn't my grandfat her . I'm half-breed I felt my half was robbed from me and my sister I always felt different and was treated differently and I touch my grandfather arm and I told him take us home with them they said they can't they will get into trouble I said we are family I want to go home to my family. When I was young told I wasn't Indian I knew I was I was heartbroken when I was 17 my real grandfather and uncle my uncle said your Indian and I told him what happened to me when I was an little girl he said believe it or not you are . That was the last time I saw my grandfather and uncle. I remember I looked into my grandfather's eyes we didn't talk with words we talked with our eyes .and I touched him then they moved the car and there was huge line of cars my grandfather my mom's family I felt I finally belong to.. Now in Forster care the kids can go to their families and I wished that my sister and I had that .
