It makes me think of love and heartache. And like any good song, hope. If you are in a bad place, guaranteed there is a better one over the hill. Buy a ticket on the bus and sit in the back.

I don't mean to be weird or creepy, but I've thought about your comment, specifically saying it's a life prayer, on and off over the past 2 years when I think of this song, and that statement is so utterly true.

Beautiful. You knew your song well before you started singing. I love that. You did Blaze well.

Speaks volumes to the qualities of this song, that John Prine covered it. One of my favorites. Blaze Foley was an amazing talent, just about as complicated as his music.

Hung out at The Earl Of Old Town with Blaze and Mike Jordan in Chicago before he moved to Austin. We got wasted on tequila boilermakers. lol Jimmy Johnson the bartender threw us out because we were getting a little rowdy. Later at Mike Jordan's place in Rogers Park we passed the guitar around. Blaze had just written Election Day. They've both passed on. It's good to Blaze's music, but hurts to have him gone. He wasn't a king or a choirboy. Just a big loud guy with a great big heart.

This tune rips your heart out. RIP Blaze

Yes, I love Blaze and this may as good as he did it. This is probably the best cover of this great song that I've heard. She did her way, yet still respected the soul of the song.

Good to see a cover of a song give attribution to the writer, too many KZread vids do not. Blaze Foley, John Prine and now a beautiful lady with a angelic voice demonstrates how good a song this is.

Just when I think I couldn't possibly like Aoife any more than I already do, she proves me wrong.

I love the original version of this song. Not necessarily John Prines version. But her singing this song you can feel the heart and soul in it. Made the hairs on my arms stand up and gave me chill bumps. Damn nice clip and the fact she mentions Blaze is great too.

I'm excited Aoife has a new album coming out. This song was what turned me onto her. I think this and John Prine's are the two best covers of an amazing song.
