Aoe2: The Conquerors - Epic 2v2 Ranked Game (2011)

Ойындар

One of the closest ranked matches I've ever played in Aoe2: The Conquerors, a classic team game with some very clever strategy. This video is dedicated to the viewers who have let me branch out in peace, thank you! This is my commentary on an excellent 1600+ Ranked Voobly Ladder game in Age of Empires II online multiplayer. It covers my thought process and has some remastered added commentary. Important Outro at 58 mins!

Match Information:
Teams: Resonance22 (Aztecs) & PGG (Koreans) vs Plumbum (Franks) & B1gM4k (Byzantines)
Elo Ratings: 1684, 1600ish, 1850ish, 1600ish. None of them play Aoe2 anymore and some accounts are gone. I think they went to Dota.
I really hope you all enjoyed this remaster. A lot of work went into this and I find my old snarkier commentary pretty funny in retrospect. There's also an important outro at 58:10.
Date Recorded: 9-23-19 and March 2011 (Patch 1.0c)
Match Played: October 2010

Thank you sooo much Spudman! It's my hope that everyone appreciates this special Age of Empires II video and understands my situation after 700 Aoe2 videos, letting me branch out in peace. The support means so much to me. :D You rock Spudman. If people are supportive of my new content, it helps motivate me to post the occasional Aoe2 video too.

I know everyone's talking about it but woah this Resolution22 gameplay. "A good Age of Empires 2 player is prepared to adapt to any situation, no matter how stupid." ~ Resonance, unchanging throughout the ages.

Funny to think that we used to have to play with that resolution and that the range of a SO spanned the whole screen lol. Great work res. Shame we don’t see as much of you in the AOE scene anymore but it’s great that you have a good passion for other games. I think your fast castle tutorial is what lead me on my path to improving in the game. Have got a brick wall now though at 1850HD.

Such a wonderfull game. I used to watch your streams in the army back in the day, especially the break the meta series. But you do you, ofcs. I understand being burned out or distanced from a game from either playing it too much or having it change in a way you don't like. Whatever you do, it's important you don't suffer doing it. Its a hobby, not a job

My favorite AOE2 commentator, the same few pro players being cast over and over = boring, non pro games so much more entertaining. You can't really expect us AOE2 fans to watch your non aoe2 videos though, I mean we are AOE2 fans after all...... if you make AOE2 vids, we will watch them!

I have been playing AOK since 1999. I completely agree with you that AOK DE doesn't feel like AOE 2 anymore and I prefer AOE 2 or even AOK HD over DE (AOK/AOKTC > AOK HD > AOK DE). The only thing I like is the auto reque farms and that is only a slight improvement over the que farm system adding in AOK TC. The only thing I like about AOK HD is the increased pop and better resolution/OS support (and the fact that it has a community to play with). The pathfinding is worse than it was 20 years ago and the net stability is often equal or worse when it comes to disconnects (I can count on ten fingers the number of AOK games that disconnected for me and I played hundreds back in the day) One of the great things about AOK is that there was only one patch for it. Therefore, I can easily watch recorded games I have back to 1999, just be toggling between two different versions of the game, both of which are still available now. Unlike AOK HD which has countless patches, each of which ruins recorded games from the previous patch. This forced me to actually record the games using other software and backing up on my youtube channel, not really aimed for others to watch but that I can at least watch them years later myself, because I am not going to be able to keep dozens of copies of AOK HD installed indefinitely, particularly of earlier patch versions that are not available anymore. Anyway, with regard to this particular recap, great game, I enjoyed the recap! It is easy to nitpick when viewing others and your own old games, but the one suggestion that jumped to mind is that when you were hitting their trade in the middle, you could have brought a few villagers with you to wall off Red (blocking his paladins coming in) and build a few buildings that both resupply your army and also clog up the trade route. If you put even the tapped foundations of a few barracks/siege workshops in that trade route, it would have stopped his carts from getting past you and killed them ever faster. The down side of walling off red is that it may have forced him to build up his forces instead of sending them in small numbers to die easily, which may have been more dangerous, but he ended up doing that anyway.
