Hey T90, I found your channel bc of an old friend in the army. We were stationed near Hanoi together back in 1971 and the jungle was so thick that it was hard to move through it. When we used our machetes to clear a path he always said "just like in those Forest Nothing games on T90 channel". Unfortunately he caught some bacterial infection and didn't make it. When I got back home in '73 I finally had internet access again and to honor my friend I watched one of your casts, ever since then I have only missed a few videos. Cheers.

Wow Michael you were near Hanoi ? ? The capital of Communist North Viet Nam . The only Americans I know that were in or near Hanoi were our prisoners of war - Senator John McCain comes to mind . Also no jungles near Hanoi , just cities and roads . I suppose you were tortured for 4 or 5 years ?

I fell out of a tree once, it put me into a coma for a month no one thought id make it, but from gods own intervention luckily a nurse was watching your stream while changing my IV, and your stream was enough to get me out of bed

Yeah I'm also more of an A-guy. Still I wouldn't say no to a nice couple of B's. Amazing learn.

Hi t90, found your channel through a friend of mine who's an archeologist. She was excavating an ancient Etruscan site where she found a stone tablet with your channel and stream schedule inscribed into it probably using bronze tools. I followed the instructions on this tablet to find your channel on Twitch and I've been watching your content ever since.

Yeah I struggle dropping off food also tend to idle tc when having to micro vills to shoot boar , garrison lurer and out again whilst also setting the next gather point and, scouting and not getting housed aaahhhlol

Add spears and you have the perfect trash mix

It could be nice to link to some (maybe unlisted) vids where you use the build order and talk about why you do what you do (maybe even play first and discuss the replay).

I feel like one of the little cheats that could be done on this is to lure one of the boars with the scout instead (or both if you have the hp to spare, getting your scout killed probably wouldn't help).

So do skirms get any upgrades from the blacksmith? I can't figure out the Skirms.

Isn't armor more important for skirms? They don't need +1 on top of the attack bonus vs archers, but +1 armor cuts the damage they take from archers in half.

It's not for the attack but for the range. Plus if you go scout your opponent will answer with spears, against which it's better to have longer range than defense... if they can attack your range unit you did something wrong

Thanks a bunch for these videos t90!! Very helpful. My only question: why even do farms in dark age? Every time I play, there seems to be enough sheep, berries, and boars to get me to feudal. I save the wood and drop farms as I hit feudal. Granted, I don't win online 11 any constructive replies are welcome!

You're welcome! Farms allow for flexibility ie- gives you extra food to work with in the next age. It's possible to up without farms but is a bit more difficult.

I have the same question! Back in the day when I started to play AOE 2 on HD, I kinda came up with my own build order that I thought made the most sense. It was all fine but I would stay somewhere between 1600 and 1700 ELO. Then I have tried the "official" fast castle build and my mind was blown by the fact that despite looking sloppy (for me anyway), it actually worked and allowed me to get to castle quickly while having great eco. I've been a fan of learning build orders from pros since then. So to answer your question, I have no idea to be honest. All I know is that it works. If I derail to any direction (say, send 2 extra vills to berries or deer instead of makins 2 farms), I don't get to castle as nearly as fast. It would be interesting to know the input of one of the experts who made the strategy.

Were are you playing aoe2 and how can i do it?

If you own age 2 hd edition, install a program called aoe2tools to patch the game so you can play it on Voobly, a client better than Hd, less lagg etc.... and all the pros are playing there.

I think this build order wouldn’t be useful for lower level players like me (1650) because even though skirms and cavalry is an ideal unit composition if you don’t do enough damage your castle time would be so late that you wouldn’t be able to catch up with your opponent

Well as always it depends. This build is useful when your opponent goes maa into archer. Otherwise can be tough to justify.

hmmm you can try it and see if it works Even if you dont do enough damage, you will at least have something to defend yourself with against, say , a castle drop (which is a strategy often used against beginners who don't build any military until late castle/imperial)

why would you ever want to make skirms in castle age.., i mean make skirms base your entire army, not like"oh i see crossbow so i make skirms". there are reasons why pro player dont make skirms in castle age even when they knew their opponent is going for archers.
