AoD | The Chinese Economy Is Weaker than You Think (feat. Tom Duesterberg)

There have always been skeptics of China's continued rise, and yet the Chinese Communist Party-led economy stills carries on. However, in a new report titled, "China’s Economic Weakness and Challenge to the Bretton Woods System: How Should the US Respond?" Hudson Senior Fellow Tom Duesterberg explains why the Chinese economy is now, more than ever, standing on fragile foundations and could be headed for a downturn.

You expect to pay 2 dollars and expect it to last forever. China is making Mercs, Audis, Toyotas, Volvos and many others. It leads the world in telecommunications being the first choice of most countries for its telecommunications. Only countries threatened by America dont. Trump warned Britain to get rid of its Haiwai telecommunications because it was spying. 3 groups were set up to investigate and not one found evidence of spying. Britain still hasn’t got rid of it

How did you arrive at that figure? China’s official figure ($17.9tn w/5% growth in 2023) is not remotely credible, and some of the best independent analysis we have strongly suggests that their GDP is likely less than half of what is claimed, so less than $9 trillion in USD. Given the large amount of uncertainty involved, we might be looking at anywhere between $6tn and $9tn. Also, China may be facing a prolonged contraction, and I have seen it suggested that growth could be around -10% this year.

These guys misunderstand the chinese structure. The Hukou system means essentially 500million people provide a maid service to another 500million Einsteins and Millionaires. Any time CCP needs compete on price, lean on the labour costs, anytime not currently the best, take the IP and share with the Einsteins and Millionaires (there are more in China than anywhere else). Instead of sharing wealth to the rural areas, invest in high speed rail and so on for the rich part of society, spend on military with infinite available recruits from the poor . You can fund a lot of cool projects for a very long time if you ripoff 500million folk

I did LOL unbelievably when I saw that CCP's bullshit for the first time on the picture. Is there any other of this sort of great inventions? Most critics only manged to look at certain situation from certain angles. Some might choose specific angles to satisfy their political objectives. If one really needs to study and assess if "The Chinese Economy is weaker than you think", it needs extensive research on all aspects extensively and could only be covered with a book or a very substantial paper. Let's commence by looking at the DNA of China an area that this critic has not addressed. China is one of the few countries on the planet that keeps planning 10-20-30 years ahead meticulously and continuously. Its foresight is impecable. BRICs is a clear example. It foresaw that it will get extreme pressure from United States and its allies. BRICs provide an alternative path. It also foresaw that other developing countries will catch up for the production of consumer goods. 15 years ago it started implementing structural changes to the maufacturing system in China. These structural changes were made in lightning speed. Technological advancement we see today is only just the surface. Advancement in the next 5 years will be twice as fast as 10 years ago. It foresees the necessities of keeping high efficiency and cost effectiveness to maintain the blood stream of China. Unlike western countries, it did not flood the market with money during covid. Inflation in the west is more like a drug and it has long term negative effect. It is beyond ones imagination that how many experts from all over the world are now being recruited by China and treated with the highest respect and more importantly provided with the opporunity to express their skill and talent. Undoubtedly, China will have a hard time ahead, it will stay afloat because of the aforesaid. China is after peace and cooperation. It fully understands that only with peace and cooperation they could afford to feed the 1.4 billion population. It ignores all unfounded acqusations because it knows that truth will ultimately prevail. China will be liked by all nations that holds onto justice and fairness.

Canada is a ZERO on the economic stage right now. Where you came up with that assertion, I’d like to know. Especially with the clown running the country now! Additionally, Canada has survived by selling raw materials to China for it to make items with. China is now going into the economic dark ages as manufacturing moves to other jurisdictions. It will take decades before Canada can recover from the loss of China as a customer. That’s assuming Vietnam, India, Mexico etc can pick up the slack. But the world in general is losing population and other than Africa, the world doesn’t need ‘things’ anymore.

So, am I interpreting this correctly; 1. China "exploits" developing countries by building infrastructure in exchange for resources (while the US bombs & kills or sells weapons for others to)? 2. China's "expansionism" needs to be curtailed while the US has hundreds of military bases around the world? 3. China has gone from competitor to adversary to enemy as their economy has grown. The US is unwilling or unable to compete therefore they need to be pulled back? A lot of countries have serious economic problems, China's appear to be the opposite of most western countries & will also take some fancy footwork to get out of. Even the title of this channel "Arsenal" of democracy. Kind of sets the channel on a war footing before the video starts.

Got to point two and realised this was a troll. To say that the US has never helped rebuild or develop a country just shows massive ignorance. You may not like aspects of US behaviour but nothing China has done in the last 100 years compares to the Marshall plan. US assistance to other countries is not limited to the Marshall plan. It’s just one example. Meanwhile the best example of Chinese assistance is child labour in cobalt mines in Africa or creating failed states in places like Sri Lanka. You could have approached this reasonable and had a real discussion but by point 2 it was clear none of your points had anything to do with a reasonable discussion and everything to do with pounding your chest and faux pas social media outrage.
