It's all moot, because cobalt-free batteries are possible. There are several promising ones right now, a proper response would be to increase R&D for battery tech. Additionally, Sodium batteries are on the horizon, and US Lithium mining as a recycled wasteproduct of geothermal energy plants is another possibility. We do need to increase our production of rare earths, but of course, we can do it responsibility. That said, the idea that Chinese companies might buy our cobalt exports as "still going to China" is a strawman. The issue is cobalt production, not cobalt use. If the US produced 90% of the world's cobalt, and companies around the world bought it from us, refined it, and made products out of it, that's much different than China producing 90% of the world's cobalt and refining it and making products out of it. One of those scenarios still results in us having strategic control of a critical resource, the other does not.

When you compare her intellect and style versus MTG or Bobert, you can’t help but appreciate the differences between a Democrat woman and a Republican woman. These Democrat women actually know their stuff, and aren’t just in it for themselves. She also carries herself with self-respect. Dresses classy. Maintains eye contact contact when debating her colleagues. At 34 years old we are lucky to have her and hopefully for a long time.

I am always astonished at how many Congress members, mostly GOP, who show up at work unprepared. All most of them need to do is ask their staff to research an issue, summarize it, & prepare pages of real facts. Instead of using facts, they make up stupid & inaccurate statistics, spread conspiracy theories, and try to BS their way through hearings. I imagine most of them hire staff members who are the children of donors or family friends, and who are just as stupid as their bosses. Apparently anyone on their staff who is halfway smart chooses to remain silent.

Why do so many on the right insist she’s a stupid crackpot? Every time I see her speak on a topic She is on point, never fails to address questions put forth to her and comports herself in a dignified manner. Maybe they are threatened because she’s so formidable.
