It probably doesn't hurt that a lot of the talents are also stunning beauties IRL, so they can kind of exist on the same level? If that makes sense. I should probably watch the whole video before commenting, but I too hope that she's in a place in life where she can be comfortable and make genuine friendships with wonderful people. While that sounds like a ridiculous anime/manga plot, it's actually messed up what she's talking about. Having your apartment broken into, having hidden surveillance planted in your home and those other experiences would actually destroy most people's sanity. You'd shut down any human interactions, probably have bad anxiety and become really paranoid and no one would blame you honestly. Thank God she has very supportive parents and some long-standing friends.

I've gone through stuff like that and I feel like it's not really something that destroys your sanity or forces you to shut down any human interactions, 99% of the world is still good to you, it's just specific threats you have to go out of your way to protect yourself from. Like Ao probably met thousands of people in her life and only had these kinds of issues with 4 or 5 of them, and she was still able to become an entertainer who's now been seen by hundreds of thousands of people.

@@Crescent-Adam the vast majority of people who suffer trauma (90+%) don't get PTSD, it's just not true that "most people" would "have their sanity destroyed" from something like this. And even PTSD isn't as severe as the reaction you described. This idea that victims of trauma frequently go insane from it (or even go on to inflict their trauma on others) has been becoming more common and not only is it not true IMO it can be really harmful and stigmatizing to victims. Like I had a friend in college who was a military combat veteran and I kept seeing the kind of people who believe everything they see on TV treating him like he was a bomb waiting to go off when he was 100% fine. I'm wary about talking about my own experiences because of reactions like this.

Being a natural people pleaser somehow always ends up confusing some people... Some people just hate you because "there's no way someone can be this nice for nothing in return". And often end up leading people that are looking for a relationship on. It's an exhausting way of life, and you'll find yourself burning out frequently. Which eventually leads you to turning down some plans which makes people dislike you. You won't make many friends, but the friends you do end up making are some of the best ones around.

It’s funny because a lot of people might not understand it but I get where she’s coming from I have a similar story and I’ve learned it’s just super important to set boundaries for yourself and for others because often times what would happen is I’d tell myself I was alright with the way things were and that it couldn’t be helped but the reality was it really would get to me how it would effect my relationships and the way I dealt with my feelings at the time. Maybe it’s because I was a people pleaser or just didn’t want to cause problems but it’s helped me to be selfish sometimes.

I know you're just meme-ing, but all i felt from her stories is sadness, grateful she still lives to tell these tales and her supportive family, and awe at her optimism despite everything she's been through. No judgement here, we all use humor to deal with difficult experiences to some extend, I just couldn't find it in me to joke about actual bodily harm and loneliness that someone had or is still going through.

And most people are not trained in any martial art, which gives any martial artist a big advantage (unless they have actually drank the cool-aid of prideful proponents of their own arts). Even the confidence that knowing that you can respond back to someone, is a tool of defense. Self-defense starts and it can end before any physical contact.

from what i understood in the stream, something similar happened to her where someone asked ao-kun for help so she gave them her phone number in the hopes of getting updated on the situation and provide assistance. but when the calls started happening, they would call her almost everyday without talking about the matter they asked help for. the calls came frequently and almost always at the same time everyday so ao-kun asked them if there were any updates on their situation. they responded with, in essence, "nothing has happened at all yet so i'll be continuing to call you for the foreseeable future" . ao-kun then judged that they really shouldn't help this person at all anymore (thus her saying "ah, yabai hito dana na") crazy stuff honestly goodness im glad she isn't living alone anymore

I learned a long time back that I have harem protagonist levels of charm for right about a single conversation with most people, male or female (I am a big fuzzy dude). It's not intentional, I am not attractive, I apparently just fit the weird "ideal "safe guy" you can break glass to access to in case of emergencies", it led to a lot of really weird awkward situations where girls would think we were in some way "totally getting each other" (what, I'm 42, call it 'gen x slang' if it makes you feel better) when I was simply dipping in to my "open doors, be polite and charming to women no matter what" masculine upbringing as well as dipping in to my retail sales personality mask. Two girls on the bus that I was talking to, both thought I was trying to entertain the other one while getting their digits... Oh the Pikachu faces when I got up to leave at my stop and both looked at me, then each other while they moved their phones towards me to give info... They yelled at each other, yelled at me, then I had to explain that "I am just charming when I am anxious, sorry, just blame me". Sounds cheesy, sounds like it's not a problem to have, sounds like BS, but when you are celibate and all you do is mess with people by having a good smile and polite speech, it makes life a lot less fun... especially when you are, not attractive, not looking, not rich and beyond a first impression am the guy in an isekai anime who points at Truck-Sama while everyone else actually tries to warn the guy. I shall enjoy hanging out with my new blue haired 'bro' while she streams.

Also, if you don't know who Itou Makoto is, I highly recommend the School Days anime. Not because it's good, but because it's entertaining. (The anime is a derivative work of a branching paths visual novel, so the story is watered down in that way, but I never played it, and I still enjoyed the anime. Besides, being a visual novel, it's probably also on KZread anyway. Nice boat.)
