I love how you walk the viewer through the entire thought process from planning to finished photo!

Love the composition and it proves that everything doesn't have to be over planned or over lit to work.

Love what was done and also that the model got to choose the spot thus creating a marvelous shot out of the available light and shadows.

Thank you for showing us your process. Nice resuLts. I would’ve loved having the color of the walls, which matched his clothing, as part of the art.

Yes, leaving those colors in, including not taking all the color out of the beautiful cream roof.

Impressive. Initial reaction to the title was, hmm, is this worth the time for me, a hobbyist, to watch? Luckily, curiosity overcame the "Nah" instinct and I was rewarded with a let's-walk-through-this-challenge-and-think-it-out video. Right away I was thinking, what would my creative choices be? I never envisioned Pye's choice (Me: let's lean this tall model against the far end of the brick wall and see how many brick rows we can catch in perspective leading to him - I know, earns a D- in creativity, right?!). So, thank you, Pye, I watch and learn. ⭐x5

Final post and everything is blue. I like the red brick and the monochromatic look. Thumbs down on the final pic but the composition and set up was great.

I always learn more than I expected watching these. Now I'm inspired to play with flash grids a little more. #appreciation

That’s 90% of how I work. I figured most models have places where they feel comfortable, clothes they want to shoot it. I just say tell me where you want to shoot & in what and I shoot it. The other 10% are all me, cost a $$$ to shoot so.. I like it:

Hi there Pye! As usual great video! When you go on location like that, what's the gear that you bring in your backpack. The choice of modifiers to be able to shoot in "almost" any situations. Thanks and keep your good work a pleasure to follow you!

I know that the grid gives you a tighter spread of light but if you zoomed the head in with the strobe so close to the subject would that come close to using the grid? Great image but was wondering about zooming in vs using a grid? Thanks

Would a redirector help with that situation? It seems that there's a lot of light coming from the other side.
