Keep a mich tighter arc than you would with low hydrogen rods, and drop the amps by about 10-20% depending on position

Alky unit shutdowns back in the day. Also offshore I don’t mind them as long as they shorty rods. I use a good bit of 309’s around the house on things.

308 is also a very good rod for joining dissimilar or unknown steels. Almost always gives a beautiful bead!

You just need to hold a steady electrode travailing speed, also hold a close arc length and avoid over run of the beads during the welding of the pipes

Keep a tight arc on a root pass..ok everything else you can long arc it and watch the rod "drip" into the puddle.

If the floor is clean first this works well. Cut some floor polish wax with acetone like 10:1 and dip your push broom in it. Dont let it soak or youll melt the bristles. Let it dry. Should be sticky and pick it all up. Dip the broom in HOT water and it all comes off. This works with aluminum chip also.

That stuff doesn't behave at all. Almost have to long arc it, and the rest is spray and pray. One second its going where you want it to, and the next second it's folding over and leaving a void like an ex clearing out your joint checking account. Do not recommend.
