I have the FW-450 which has the same power train and rotor system I think. One of the best RC values out there IMO. I had RTF and also got a BNF for around $450 IIRC. It's awesome.

Hi Rich, I started with helis in the mid 70's with the fixed pitch Dubro Shark. It used an O&R gas engine converted to glow fuel. They later came out with a .60 conversion. You are correct no gyros back then. Made flying very interesting.

@@RCINFORMER Still have the Schluter Champion and Scout and also a Shuttle ZX that had the pull start OS engine. I'm converting the Shuttle to electric and have an idea or two to also convert the Champion and Scout, as funds will allow. On a fixed income now.

Kids these days just don’t know the struggles we old timers had 20 and 30 years ago. I still have my old TSK Mystar 46. No electronic gyros, gps or stabilization back then. People who complain about the price don’t know how the cost of rc helis has come way down and it’s a lot more accessible. Heli radios alone were easily $600+. And no computer simulators. RC helis were high crash risk and high cost/maintenance. Remember training gear made out of wooden dowels and wiffle balls? 😂

@@greendiode5522 I remember using that style training gear. Once I was able to hover well I bought a pair of fiberglass main rotor blades for my Schluter Scout that cost $175. Started up the heli to do blade tracking and while in a hover after a minute there were no flight commands being received. All I could do is stand there and watch as it slowly tilted to the right and crash destroying a new set of main rotor blades in just 5 minutes. OUCH. I discovered the battery plug to the receiver had vibrated out of the socket. That was a lesson never to be repeated.

Nice review! It's great that these new helis make flying helis so much easier for new pilots. Is there a possibility to switch all these electronic aids like altitude and position hold off step by step with the RTF controller? This would make it possible for the pilot to take over the control after having the orientations sorted. The flighttime is simply amazing.

No they won’t help a beginner as you’re not flying it!!!!

Same goes for the Blade 320S that i'm converting inta an Huey atm :D

Also note most reviews who have them werent purchased like we would gave to order through a seller or distributor. They get them for reveal purposes so they dont waite as long ti get them. They probably dont realize the ordinary customer is having issues even getting them delivered. So its no their fault. But they need to know its really hard to get them right now.

Wes brought this to my field, he handed it to me, I flew it. Its that simple. Then he took it home with him. It's very easy to fly:)

lol yep the gyro's in my hirrobo shuttle were like mounting a 35 mm cameras and you needed 3 . started with non gyro in the late 70's

Ive noticed most that make a RC Huey chopper always get the tail rotor blade mounted on the wrong side, wonder why that is even Roban made this error.

question. if your helicopter won't stay in place when trying to rotate in place like that. what could be the problem? (my f09-s is horrible)

It is pricey, however it really works quite well & it's super easy to fly!

There are 3 mods, was he flying in GPS? If he was, he was missing out on more speed and freedom.

I only flew it on that 1 day and it flew great. The whole time I was flying it.

I understand why its a motor in the tail now instead of a belt or direct drive. But my GOD I hate that sound in the tail rotor.

The Tail rotor is ESC speed controlled... no pitch control in the tail.

That price is insulting. And I'm the guy with 2 Trex 450's and an 800 size bird sitting behind me. Since when did the Hobby start to try and screw people over. Basic components, basic gyro, basic electronics for the tail and a low quality scale body? Naw. Get outa here with that nonsense. Wonder if these guys know they are going to price themselves out of the market eventually. No reflection on RC Informer.

Naw that's cool! Fair comments. It is pricey... but it flys itself. I'm literally just directing it around the Skys. It's essentially a drone that looks like a helicopter:) it literally flys out of the box with ZERO work.... I would like to see a super scale fuselage on this thing for that kind of cash. 30min flight time is unreal. Remember, it's turnkey.... helicopter, radio, battery, charger with no building or setup!

I was made a gift of the Flywing fw200. There is no way i could buy it otherwise.

I can buy 7 eachine beginner helis for the price of one of these and they're just as scale. The E120, EC135, C186, and several other 4 channel helis are under $100 shipped.

@@RCINFORMER But just as capable and I can buy almost 8 of them for what that one costs. Another thing you don't mention is that with the new FAA rules it will need a transponder to fly legally. A smaller heli won't and you can fly the smaller one anywhere. Not so with a 450 size and that will keep it out of the hands of most beginners.

@randall1959 Those things are so tiny... there's no comparison. Due to their size, they are not just as capable. Also, you can fly this at any AMA/FAA FRIA field... NO REMOTE ID REQUIRED! Most RC Pilots are flying at a FAA designated FRIA which is perfect for a 450 or larger size.

The price on this is just nuts, honestly the fuz looks toy grade, I’m sure myself and others would repaint it and make it more scale but I can buy a composite turbine jet or this thing. They need to work on a competitively priced product and not insult us with pricing

It's easy to fly. It basically a drone that looks like a helicopter. No work is required. You take it out of the box and fly it:)

Could think of anything more boring a helicopter that your not flying. Best place for this is in the bin and you going and by something better and lest overpriced.
