    The 'very nice adjustable feet' at 3:50, well I had 1 foot screwed in, 2 loose in the bottom of the box a large hole had been ripped in the plastic overwrap where the fourth foot had exited. Have to use cardboard to hold up 1 corner.

    I just got this and use black plant based resin and my print stuck to the vat film. Excited to get some advice. My fep film was cloudy after I cleaned it wrong. My screen protector application failed because of some stupid dust that got on the screen after I cleaned it. Now have the firmware update and am waiting a few days for new screen protector and fep film. I also did not mess with the z shim at all.

    Ok, remember that I am a noob at resin printing as well. I certainly recommend waiting for a screen protector. As I mention in the video it has already worked its magic already for me. The plant based resin, all I can say is that you may want to check your exposure settings again and be certain that they are not too long. Also make sure that you are homed to the proper height as well. I would recommend finding a resin calibration file that you like and test exposure times. I have done that for most of the resins that I have been using, it really helped. Below is a pretty good one to use, doesn't use a lot of resin and prints fast. www.thingiverse.com/thing:4707289 I like using the PTFE dry lube that I showed in the video, any brand should work. It does make a difference in the resin sticking to the FEP sheet. If I don't use it, I can hear the difference. No popping when the build plate rises. It also clears up a cloudy FEP sheet for a while too, sort of fills in the scratches. The "Z" shim you can leave alone if you did not put on a flexible build plate. I would have left mine alone, but I could hear a slight difference in the stepper motor when it came down to the screen that I didn't like. I hope this helps, don't get discouraged with your printer, once you get it dialed in you are going to really enjoy using it! I certainly do not have all the answers, remember that I am new at resin printing too. Check out the Facebook group for this printer, Anycubic has one specific for the PMX6K.

    @@Original-Werks Thanks so much. I was watching the video for awhile got about half way then country reception when out on data and I just got home and sat down. Waiting about 5 days and going to try again. My main disappointment was the test file didn't work out of box which is meh I shouldn't have been so go ho and made sure I did everything fort and re uped my research. But it's already great seeing a more up to date review or step by step of this printer. But your slower and longer showed cleaning process was really helped. I think I didn't watch as many people clean vats as I thought and just completely bombed this part.

    Have you tried using just a basic grey resin? Might be easier to get exposure times right. Is your printer in a temperature controlled environment? Resin printers need to be at comfortable room temperature.

    I throw them into a 5 gallon bucket and let them evaporate out. This is of course in a small shop/studio, you may want to do something else if you are in a living space. The resin that is left is minimal. Then I dispose of them. With now having a wash station, my waste should be very minimal. I will be using a very small amount of paper towels. Have Fun Printing!

    If I want to do hollow, what wall thickness do I have to set? In case of smoothing

  • @Original-Werks

    @Original-Werks

    Жыл бұрын

    That is a tough question to answer. So many variables - model size, resin type, amount of detail, what it will be used for, orientation of the print itself, this also leads to the suction and draining of model as well. I would suggest printing a small part comparable to what you want for wall thickness, or even better print a small test portion of your final planned part. This will give you something to smooth and test your finish on. Sorry, hard to give a very clear answer, your question did not give me much information to go on. Good Luck!

    I did a fresh download of the PMX6K firmware on both my MAC and a Windows computer. The MAC automatically converted the .RAR file back to a .BIN file, my Windows computer left it as a .RAR file. For Windows users it seems that you may have to find software to convert the file from .RAR to .BIN. I found one named 7-Zip that should work, please let me know if this works.

    Very happy that you found a solution. The firmware allows anti aliasing to work with all the slicers. Layer lines are virtually invisible on your prints with the PMX6K. Enjoy!

    Seems to be some confusion over this. I have read that some come with it pre installed while other machines do not. Mine did not appear to have one yet, so I installed it. I did not want to peel the light leak tape back to double check. The screen protectors are much cheaper than a screen. I would rather waste a spare screen protector than my light screen. If you have any doubts, install it. I already saved my screen once because I missed a drop of resin on the bottom of my vat that cured to the protector. Luckily it scrapes off of it easily. Enjoy your new printer!

    I am sorry to hear that you are having problems. There are so many variables to contend with. I myself was discouraged at first, not understanding how to properly support models. Good Luck, unless there is something seriously wrong with your printer, it should print well for you.
